Today was fun but very tiring and draining. After my gym work i was practically dead...then i did events.

Sumo deadlift
135x3
155x1
185x1
205x1
225x1
http://www.grambo.org/afa/users/tec/events2/sumo225.WMV
275x1
http://www.grambo.org/afa/users/tec/events2/sumo275.WMV
315x1
http://www.grambo.org/afa/users/tec/events2/sumo315.WMV

This was my first time pulling sumo heavy and I wasn't expecting to use alot of weight. I thought my form was really good up until 315...then it just sucked completely, hips raised too fast. I was really happy pulling 315 though considering it was my first time.

High bar squats
135x5
185x5 x 3 sets

Rev hypers + mini
3x12

Calves on my new calf raise thinggy i made out of 2x4s
135x8 reps for 2 sets...these felt weird...i'm gonna try to fix it better for next week.

Events:
farmers
150s 3 trips (very hard and very heavy...could barely move)
http://www.grambo.org/afa/users/tec/events2/farmers150s.WMV
80s 3 trips moving fast
http://www.grambo.org/afa/users/tec/events2/farmers80s.WMV

Sled drag
2 plates 2 trips long distance
3 plates 2 trips medium distance
4 plates 1 trip medium distance
http://www.grambo.org/afa/users/tec/events2/sled3plates.WMV
http://www.grambo.org/afa/users/tec/events2/sled4plates.WMV

I feel like i'm going to pass out right now...need to get in better cardio shape!

Nice work bro. I can offer no advice on the FW or sled pulling. I can make one suggestion in that you turn your toes out a little more on your sumos. Overall though good work.:D

Nice work man!!!!

Try and work on not still-legging the sumo's (I am working on the same thing). Ask Spatts about some advice on them...turning your toes out might be the answer!!!

Farmers...where is your hand placement? You should grab closer to the back than to the front of the handles...but it looked good. Think SPEED!!!!!!!

Sled...lean w a y back when you do these!!!! Pull hard and never slow down...EVER.

Next week...try doing the 130's on farmers then going directly into a sled drag...(carry and drag medley). :)

Damnit.. you and Clint are motivating me to want to do Strong man stuff....

It just sounds like sooooo much fun

It's cool that you're really motivated to get stronger, but you should not let the mentality take precidence over form. I would get your form absolutely dialed in--it's extremely important especially in exercises like the deadlift. Your 275 wasn't so hot and your 315 honestly could have sent you to a doctor or chiropractor.

Work on getting your form impeccable, then add weight slowly over time. Adding weight too quickly is a recipe for failure. People don't realize that adding 2 lbs every week doesn't seem like a lot, but in 4 years you will have added over 400 lbs to your deadlift (assuming you're performing the necessary accessory work after you've passed around the 350 lb mark if not before). Tell me you wouldn't be happy with a 600 lb textbook-perfect-form deadlift in the next few years. You would be light years ahead of 98% of the training community.

you really have some nice equipment there man.....

your parents much give u alot of money to buy all the stuff eg, brand new olympic bar and weights, sled, farmer thingies, not to mention that sweet arse camera. And im guessing you are still at school so your parents must give u heaps. More than i can say about mine :(.

form needs work i know, i'll type out a reply to clints original post when i get home from school.

as for my parents giving me things...its not quite like that, they don't really like the whole idea of lifting and strongman because they say it consumes me. I worked to buy most of my equipment, whatever money i have\earn goes towards this stuff. Whenever my birthday\christmas comes around i get plates or something. It was all bought in stages mostly with my own money. The camera is my parents and I use it.

I really enjoyed the vids...looks like you're a pretty young guy, good for you for springing for your own equipment. You tend to appreciate it a lot more that way!

Anyhow, as far as your deads go...it looked like you were locking out your legs too early. I could be wrong, but I watched it a few times in a row, just to see what I could pick up. Something looked off about it and I was wondering how you felt the next 1-3 days after...so how do you feel? Sore at all?

How do your shoes feel? Are they comfortable to work out in?
