marijuana and AS?

Anyone see a problem with me having a puff or two a day while on a test/dbol cycle? Ok, by a puff or two, I mean a couple joints a day.
 
marijuana sux testosterone out of your body ive heard....but im sure not any seriouse amount....better that than drinking, booze will put extra stress on your liver while breakin down muscle and makin fat harded to burn....but good question
 
I think it is fine. I've heard all the negative effects of weed on a cycle, but have never seen any proof or studys on it. I smoke while on and think it has benefits like increased appetite. Also after a grueling leg or back workout, when you're feeling nautious(sp), a few tokes makes that nausea go away. I suppose it may also make you lazy and not want to go to the gym either. I say smoke on off days and only after workouts on training days.
 
Bad idea. If your gonna live the lifestyle you got make sacrafices and commitments. No need for pot or excessive drinking while on.
 
i agree if your gonna live the lifestyle you have to make sacrifices but there is no reason smoking a couple of joints cant be part of that lifestyle. everyone is different some like to smoke some like a beer or both. live life to the fullest otherwise why bother.

Live the lifestyle? DO you have any idea how many top level bbers smoke weed? I agree that alcohol is poision on or off cycle.

lonewulf- show me a study that proves weed increases estrogen levels.
 
Mixing Weed and BB has always Left me with a difficulty of being motivated. Definitly do not smoke until after your workout.
 
I don't think it will have any adverse effects at all to be honest. I have a friend who smoked everyday (always after workouts) and he's been in all the big magazines (Muscle Fitness, MuscleMag, Men's Workout, etc...etc... When I met him he was 160 lbs. and now he's about 240 with abs.
 
1. safer than drinking when ON. if u must get off it then its prob the safest way to.

2. helps u eat a lot when ON, when u really need those calories

3. helps u sleep deep, when u really need ur sleep so that ur muscles can grow.

so useful infact that maybe IMO sources should start selling as a wonder BB aid.

however it will make u lazy as fuck so only do it after workouts.
 
Smoke away! It will have a miniscule effect if any on test. Think about it guys, we are injecting 100 times the normal test level, you think some pot is going to dent that?
 
Weed is wonderful. If you can keep your motivation up. ( I suggest waiting until after your workout to light up) than by all means go ahead. I haven't smoked in like 6 months since I moved. It's pretty sad that it I have no problem getting gear but I don't know anyone to get a bag from without driving 5 hrs! We need to convince weed sellers to start emailing out price lists!
 
weed is absolute proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy!

i think its ok so long you can stick w/ your schedulded meals/sleep/training if not then dont do it or plan things out better...

i like the idea of only doing it post workout or on off days :)

btw... i just got back from amsterdam 2nite :)
 
weed make shot as hell.....i feel like a tree huggin hippy for the next few days....cant be a pot head and work out...plus i wouldnt do cardio with resin filled lungs
 
the pot raises estrogen or lowers test myth is from the reefer madness govt inspired fear days. they also said that weed would turn you gay or make you a child molester.
 
A lot of people that are saying it's terrible to smoke some green occasionally during a cycle are simply opposed to mary-j in general.

Get some facts and don't say it's negative on a cycle just because you don't agree with it.

Estrogen is raised a very unsignificant amount. People that abuse the stuff & for long periods are the only one likely to suffer from this.

Smoking responsibly and moderately is okay. If bulking, the increase in appetitie is a bonus. Relaxation is also a positive.

As with anything, you can make it into a negative situation. Smoking and drinking is two very different areas when relating to bodybuilding. Be responsible and it is far more beneficial than harmful while juicing.

btw, I no longer smoke, so I'm not supporting it simply due to me being a user.
 
Well guys, I may be the only one in here that can have a puff and actually get motivated for the gym. I swear I have better workouts stoned than not. I think you guys have answered my question though. Obviously, if I'm on this site, I'm looking to improve the condition of my body and smoking too much would be counteractive. And as for increasing apetite, weed works wonders. I'll be cutting out alcohol 100% when I start my cycle and keep the smoking to a minimum.

I love smoking and then lifting. I can really concentrate onthe muscles I'm working. It does make me too lazy to do cardio though. Plus weed makes late night cardio w/ a female even better.
 
I have been smoking ED for the last 20 years and lifting for the last 18 of of those years, and never a problem, it does effect people differently, makes some lazy, just calms me down, puts me in a zone, the only thing I can't do high is trig or algebra.
 
Cinnabar, nice to hear I'm not alone. Although, I was majoring in math and still able to bust out the solution to the occasional algebraic equation. As for cardio, I can smoke a bowl and ride a hard 17 miles mountain biking or play 2+ hours of basketball, and still be the fastest guy on the court. I never really feel short of breath. fuck it, I'm gonna have a hit right now and go do my arms.
 
Hey Bro I agree theirs nothing like taken a couple of hits then getting on the mountain bike with some tunes kicking in my walkman, I get in such a zone it's like I'm not doing any work at all, and that on some of those long hills that would kill me if I wasn't high, it's almost like an outta body experence.

Acute effects of smoking marijuana on hormones, subjective effects and performance in male human subjects.

Four healthy male subjects smoked two marijuana cigarettes or one marijuana cigarette and one placebo cigarette, or two placebo cigarettes on separate days in a random order crossover design. Each marijuana cigarette contained 2.8% delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Plasma hormones and THC were measured before and after each smoking session. Plasma LH was significantly depressed and cortisol was significantly elevated after smoking marijuana. Nonsignificant depressions of prolactin, FSH, testosterone and free testosterone and elevation of GH also occurred. Concurrent measures of subjective effects via subscales of the Addiction Research Center Inventory, Single Dose Questionnaire and a Visual Analog Scale were generally elevated. Significant impairment on a psychomotor performance task paralleled elevations in subjective effects, hormone effects and peak THC determinations. Although all the hormone effects were within normal basal ranges, interactions between these systems, and their effects on behavior cannot be discounted.

Effects of chronic marihuana use on integrated plasma testosterone and luteinizing hormone levels.

Integrated plasma testosterone and luteinizing hormone levels were determined for 13 healthy adult males before, during and after a 21-day period of marihuana use. No significant relationships were found between antecedent or concurrent marihuana smoking and integrated plasma testosterone and luteinizing hormone levels. All values for all subjects obtained during the entire study were within normal limits for healthy adult males.

To investigate possible effects of chronic marijuana use on reproductive and stress hormones, we assayed testosterone, luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, prolactin, and cortisol in 93 men and 56 women with a mean (+/- S.E.) age of 23.5 +/- 0.4 years. Hormone values were compared among groups of subjects stratified according to frequency of marijuana use (frequent, moderate and infrequent; N = 27, 18, and 30, respectively) and non-using controls (N = 74). Chronic marijuana use showed no significant effect on hormone concentrations in either men or women.

Plasma testosterone levels in healthy male marijuana smokers.

Plasma testosterone, FSH, and LH levels were obtained from 25 healthy consecutive heterosexual male mauijuana smoking university students. All values were within the range of normal and the means did not differ significantly from those of 13 normal controls. These data suggest that the casual marijuana smoker (at least one time weekly with an average of 5.1 joints per week) may have plasma testosterone levels which are normal for the time of day and the laboratory.

The object of this study was to establish possible influences of long-term cannabis usage on plasma testosterone levels. The plasma testosterone levels of 66 male Pakistani who for years had smoked cannabis daily or drank cannabis regularly where measured after chronic and acute intake of the drug and compared with a material of 41 normal controls, i.e. persons who did not use cannabis. An evaluation of the results showed that there were no significant differences between the two groups. No influence of long-term cannabis usage on plasma testosterone levels was found.Furthermore we wished to find out wether long-term heroin abuse showed an effect on plasma testosterone levels. The concentrations of testosterone in the plasma of 102 heroin addicts assigned to a Methadone Program were measured and compared with the values of 29 male healthy students as controls. Plasma testosterone levels were found to be significantly decreased in heroin addicts as compared to controls.
 
Marijuana does not effect test/estrogen levels

I prefer not to train high, but its possible.

Marijuana has many positive side effects and easily fits into a fitness lifestyle....Alcohol & Cigarettes (both legal) do not.
 
I smoke almost every night...helps me eat, sleep, relax.

i think its a top way to calm down after a heavy session just try and keep away from snickers and doritos when you get the munchies!

Yeah, at least 95 percent of that "pot lowers testosterone" stuff is bullshit. I about shit when "Dr. Drew" told some guy on a Loveline call in that his gyno came from him smoking pot when he was younger. What is he a doctor of? Voodoo? I have never seen any study verifying any of these myths and I've kept my eyes open.

But, on to the tagline: a while back I was reading in MD that there is evidence that Marijuana increases metabolism! Think about, it's got to be true- look at all these potheads that eat tons of junkfood and stay rail thin. I know I was like that when I used to smoke. Does that mean it's a performance enhancer? Not necessarily. But is there a possibility that marijuana would basically be a wash, and not hurt your training at all? All indications are yes.


As far as losing motivation, yeah, it can happen. But I know a few ironworkers who work like sum'bitches when they toke. Honestly, on a high rep day a little Mary Jane could be just what the doctor ordered, especially if you take some ephedrine and caffeine along with it.

Think about it, besides just getting high, might there be a reason that some pros use it? Imagine you were going to be doing high reps for your arms on the cables, trying to induce a heavy lactic acid burn. Some people would actually do more reps in that situation if they were stoned, it's that simple.


Personally my main problem with weed is it makes me paranoid, so I'm a little skittish about going to the gym stoned.

Being around people sucks when i am high....hence why i only ever smoke before bed.
 
smoke that shit bro......i am in about 10 minutes . btw on test/dbol:D has no negative effects on me. the great thing while bulking is i eat crazy after smoking a huge ass bowl,calms me down,helps me sleep. can't beat that. however how much i smoke at one sitting i don't think i could work out while high - lol
 
Weed don't make you lazy it just makes you realize everything else really aint really that important -- wait till after your workout i think you'll be fine --keefer
