Mankind is very adept at destroying, we just need to learn a little about coexisting, with each other, and also with nature. Some fail to realize that when we destroy one species, no matter how small it appears, there is a chain reaction that affects many other species.

Why is it that when man affects one species, the DisneyWorld concept of "circle of life" is screamed, yet when nature kills off species by the truckload there are no ramifications? Did the world end when massive extinctions occured with the dinosaurs? Did mass exinctions happen with the disappeance of the Dodo bird?...the Tasmanian wolf?

This concept of everything being delicately linked is contrary to history and observation. Life is more resilient than environmentalists give it credit.

History is replete with civilizations losing their minds and basically conquering as much as possible.....it is a frenzy that dominates that mindset. The Third Reich is a recent example though Hitler seemed to mellow and allowed the British to escape from France. Change that decision and implant a mild Russian winter and who knows the outcome.

We have not even begun to experience the difficulties that the Germans faced in the early 1930s. If we did, I suspect that roaches would rule the world since they have resistance to the effects of radiation.

You're right, it happens everyday in nature. However, I believe that when it happens in nature that the other species have evolved enough so that it has little, if any effect on them. When mankind gets involved in it, we seem to be hastening the extinction of species, before others can evolve.

Ah but Hitler et al did not have nuclear weapons.....that is the difference. There have been a large percentage of powerful experts who fully expected us to destroy ourselves....why is that?

My reference to Hitler, as of late, is to illustrate that the difference between us and "them" is that we are not totally fired up............yet. This could change oh so easily!
