When I found elitefitness in July, I hadn't lifted regularly for 6 months, & had done any powerlifting in years. my stats in July were:
BW: 200 (during the war in April, I was prolly 190ish)
SQ: 275
Bench: 225
DL: 315
my current stats are:
BW: 227
SQ: 365
Bench: 265
DL: 405
These aren't earth shattering lifts by any means, but at 41, I'm still getting bigger & stronger than ever. On wednesday, I'll set a new lifetime bench PR, & I'm a few weeks away from a big squat PR as well.
My point is;
I could lay around here, feeling sorry for myself, wishing I was home, or I can bust my butt, get big & strong, & wish I was home. So when I DO get home, I can fend off the evil hordes of young men snooping around my beautiful daughters. OK, a .45 works too, but a commanding physical presence has it's benefits as well.
Train hard, Train smart, Train safely.
