Macs and other closed platforms will always become stagnant before a Windows/Linux PC. The latter may require maintenance but at least you don't have to send it in or replace the whole thing when something goes wrong, or want to upgrade.

Macs have plenty of upgrades. They do have many less than PCs, but there is a happy medium between a static configuration and a mail-order free-for-all.

No. I don't see a reason to have one personally. They may be more convenient and hassle free in some ways, but I still prefer the freedom and versatility of a PC.
