Mail Problems

Some items just came to my friend's apt today. The juice is mine but for reasons that I would rather not get into right now I had it sent to his apt. I used a fake name because my friend did not want this shit sent to his real name. When the package came today he was not home, and now he has to pick it up tommorow from the post office. In the past they have always left it at my door but I figured that is because I live in a residential area on a hill. He lives in a shitty area, so I thought nothing of it.

Now I just got worried because wont the post office need to see some ID in order for him to pick up this package. Obviously he does not have an ID that will match the fake name. I wanted to know if anyone knew for sure if he is going to need ID or not and if so what the fuck I should do.

This makes me so angry because I even made sure it was being sent where there was no signature required

Say good bye to your package (oh wait, you can't, the Post Office has it) Really though, there's no way they'll give it to him without an ID and if he says it's a fake name that will even raise more susupician.

I don't know for sure but you can try this.....go in there with the slip and ask them for the package. If they ask for ID tell em you don't have any on you. If they ask for your name I'd be leary to start lying and give them the false name. You can just say you're picking it up for your roomate. He gave you the slip and asked you to pick it up. If they say no I'd forget about it.

Is it a dom or int package?

if you give them the slip most of the time they won't ask for ID, If they do tell them that you were bringing some mail and your next door neighbor asked you to grab the package for him. Give it no more then 3 days or they ship the package back to sender.

Be careful bro. You may be better off just taking the loss. If your friend gets in trouble for picking up the package, you better believe he will rat you out in a minute! Just have the package returned to the sender, and then have your source resend it to another address. Good Luck!

It should have a place on it to leave instructions where to leave it, if not call them and tell them you are terminaly ill and this is your medication, you have to call your medicine in because you cannot get out of the house and you are alomost out of what you have left, they will prolly attempt it agian but if not tell them you will get your nephew to come pick the package up for you.

Last time I picked up a package from the post office I had to show ID. Yesterday I sent some money VIA priority mail and the guy at the counter asked for a return address which I forgot to put on. I put the address on and then he asked me for a name at which point I got really annoyed and instead of putting my name I put the name of the company I work for. I have never had this problem before and I actually get all kinds of junk in the mail without a return address or name on it. So a lot of it depends on the post office and the person you deal with.

So he got it and you're in the clear?? That's kewl. They shouldn't require an ID unless it's signature required and you said it wasn't. I prolly would've picked up the package myself and removed your friend from the ordeal, just tell them you're Mr Alias and don't have your ID on ya.

i have never been asked for ID. not for certified mail, regerstered mail, or even if the source is an idiot and sends it with a signature required.

if they ask you for id, just tell them you don't have. i doubt they will really care. they don't give a shit. but maybe my post office is the exception, who knows?

This may be worth a try if you have some balls. On the other hand it might not be the best idea:

a) Go to pick up the package with a friend.

b) Have the friend wait outside (well sort of, he needs to see whats going on.)

c) Ask for the package.

d) When asked for ID, make sure the package is right in front of you. If not, say "hangon"... you need to see who it's from, you weren't expecting anything. You need to just be smooth here, so that the package is within reach.

e) Pretend you are pulling out your ID.

f) Friend enters and yells "fuck man, they are leaving!"

g) Grab the package and run like hell.

If I were you I would find a guy with the same name as the fake name and pay him to pick it up for you. LOL. Or I would change my name and then pick it up. LOL. Kidding man, but it would work.
