M & F fusion-based B.L.E.N.D system ;)

Just a fun little ditty for those of us riding the 5 x 5 wave :)

We get M & F only because we chose to buy a magazine subscription to keep neighborhood kids off drugs.

This month's workout is called 'B.L.E.N.D.' - Bodybuilding Lift-Off through Exercise, Nutrition and Dietary Supplements

1. Super-intense training sessions include pre-exhaustion, tri-sets, drop sets and other shockers to keep your muscles guessing and growing.

2. Training volume starts high and climbs from there. Reps are particularly high, causing greater blood flow and hence a pump to the working muscles. Not only will this make you appear bigger in the gym during the workout, but it initiates long-term growth afterward

:FRlol:

3. Each muscle gets a full week to recover

4. Workouts begin and end with an isolation exercise

;)

OMG I just bought the Feb. issue yesterday!! I can't believe it.

I bought it because I was visiting relatives and I needed something to occupy my time (and the inspiration of the physiques).

All ads and BS. I can't believe it. I wanted to go through and count up the percentage that are ads, I'm sure it'd be over 70%.

Not only that, but I find it ironic every ad is MuscleTech... hmm Joe Weider..

So why'd you buy it? WHy did you give them hard earned dollars for it when you already know what's good for you?

They will not change until they are hit in the wallet.

Gotta love the perverse economics of the bodybuilding world. If the magazines actually stopped offering shit training advice, they'd probably lose ad revenue because frustrated people might stop buying $300 a month in supplements from their sponsors.

I think I saw some guy doing B.L.E.N.D today. Had the bandanna with the confederate flag and blue spandex shorts. I've seen this guy before, he brings his own straps that one uses around the elbows for doing hanging leg raises. Always in its original packaging.

Anyway, he was screaming and yelling in pure agony, I don't think child birth is this noisy, and had all his dumbells lined up all in a row on the floor - 20's, 25's and 30's for his incline dumbell fly drop sets. When he finished he'd pop up off the bench and mutter 'Holy Shit' just loud enough for everyone to hear.

Well, M & F did say it was 'super-intense'.

The thing that scares me is you aren't making this up. If the Lord is willing, I will not purchase a commercial gym membership for the rest of my life.

I think the last time I bought a M&F mag or one of its ilk was over a year ago before I'd seen the light. I felt great resentment at paying for their ads. It reminded me that I'd had a similar experience some years before.

Erm ... drugs like in "any substance that can be used to modify a chemical process or processes in the body, for example to ... enhance a performance or ability ..." ? ;)

Lol !

They need to remember their roots and go back to the routines that Park, Reeves etc would use. 5x5 was normal back then. Those guys invented 5x5 and HST. And look at the builds they got without drugs! Imagine if todays pro's used that type of training. They would probably need a lot less drugs.

Those articles are all a joke now. Even Ironman sucks. It's only good for a laugh. I never buy any of them these days. Would rather read the boards for free!
