So let me ask you this. Do you believe lying equivilates embellishing? Biteme is forever harping, "typical woman; ya'll embellish EVERYTHING." Meanwhile, I'm rolling my eyes and thinking "drama queen." But he makes a point. I do tend to spice up my stories, but I think it's because I'm an incredibly gifted and animated story teller who epitomizes charisma. Just my humble opinion, though. What are your thoughts?

i'm really psyched to hear every detail of your relationship.

LOL@Stiletto

There is a difference between embellishing (exaggerating for effect) and out and out lying.

Example:

...at that moment I wanted to have my brains removed through my nose with a rusty coat hanger.

^^ the above is obviously an embellishment/exaggeration for the sake of effect - somewhat funny and entertaining. Do I REALLY want to have my brains pulled out of my head?

I suppose that would depend on who was talking to me at that moment in time. :lmao:

Thanks so much, Stilleto. I'm equally pleased at seeing all your personal elements.

My mother used to embellish ALL her stories...lol. She could go to the grocery store and come back and spin a 30 minute yarn about the trip. She didn't lie, she just spiced the story up. Thing is we all knew she was embellishing, but it became our way of communicating with each other. Things were always a little more grand than in real life.

I loved that about her.

I am this way too... so is my Old Grump. My sister's kids howl with amusement whenever we are with them, inventing ridiculous stories. They especially love it when we do voices. I can do a good Eastern European and Asian accent but I can not do the Indian one like the Old Grump. OMG it is so funny that even our Indian friends laugh at him when he does it!!! :lmao:

have you ever told a story about something that happened to someone else? and claimed it happened to you? have you ever told that same story to the person that it originally happened to? and they were like "what the fuck dude, that was me. what the fuck is wrong with you?"

Not me, but I did actually know people who were like this. I still remember the first time I realized what the guy was doing and was mentally like, "WTF?!?!? :worried: "

i once heard my dad tell a story about something that happened to him as a child...

except it was my mother's story. something that happened to HER as a child. I don't know if he even realized it.

Yeah, I once met this girl who was the sole survivor of a plane crash. Everyone died and she came out without a scratch. So, later I was at a party and the topic of plane crashes came up and I said "I have this friend who was the sole survivor..." Stupid me, I was talking to the "friend" who was the sole survivor I spoke to before. She said, "I know, that was ME, remember." Obviously, I didn't recognize her.

:worried:

Very embarassing.

I dislike chatting so much if I can't say it in 50 words or less I have nothing to say.
as a man, i am in staunch disbelief of your claim. i feel like an old hunter, or fisherman, very aware & knowledgeable of his quarry...

i add some creativity to stories, but usually in the dialogue since i never pay attention and cant remember details.
