LSAT, Low Carb, and Brain Function- Please Advise

I am taking the Law Boards in June, and was wondering whether anybody here puts stock in the idea that low carb affects brain function.

I took a practice exam today and didn't do as well as I know I can do, maybe because I am in the midst of low-carbing!? I don't know! I do have more trouble concentrating- this could be play a crucial role of my doing well on the exam.

I definitely plan on eating a healthy amount of carbs in the days before and during June 10- but my question right now is whether anybody else feels impeded though processes on low carb?

Thanks,
Psi

your brain's fuel is glucose(carbohydrates). you need your blood sugar high when you are taking tests and stuff, as a matter of fact I feel you need your blood sugar to be high all the time except before bed, but anyway I would switch your diet to about 60 percent carbs 30 percent protein and 10 percent fat. make sure that the carbs are low g.i. carbs so it keeps your blood sugar stable so you are awake and attentive etc.

I can barely function on a lketo diet. for me, low carbing is ~200 grams of carbs per day adn I function well. However, if I drop below 100g I can barely drive. :D

look...im a university student, and the other day i basically had no carbs, by the end of a full day at uni, i could barely keep my eyes open - and i still had an assignment to finish.

I am permantly on a low carb- my body is used to it. Not no carb, but low carb...and no grains no potatoes etc. It works for me...but I thought ide be able to live on protein shakes and flax for a few days to drop some water weight...ppfft!! asif....u need more than that when you gotta use that brain!
I will try more courageous diets during he holidays.I suggest you do too.

When I eat low carbs my co-workers probably think I'm stupid as hell. Not good for job performance at all. I can't think analytically or mathematically. I wouldn't even consider taking an important test on low carbs.

on low carbs im more slack at work. i do construction. i seem to get more banged up to on the job when im on low carbs and trippin over shit and being more carless i just hope i dont kill anyone with the forklift

ketones are the prefered fuel for the brain. didn't you read dr atkins book?

That isn't just wrong--that is the OPPOSITE of what's right. Good job Lumbuss.

No dude, to maintain academic prowess you must do an ISO or BFL type "balanced" diet. Good luck on the exam.
