low white cell count and pot

TheOak84

Well-known member
I had a immune disease, which im pretty much over, and have been the past 5 years, but sometimes my white cell count is low, 1.7 last year it was 5.0

i smoke just as much as i did back then. does this effect it? ive been feeling tired, kinda, but my workouts are awesome.

any clues? im seeing my dr tomorrow.

Thyroid function test, B12, Ferritin, Folate, fasting glucose, liver function test, Urea and electrolytes, another full blood count (or CBC), total cholesterol, HDL/LDL should cover a good screen for the obvious.

The other option is to start to check out your lifestyle, experiment and alter your diet.

Smoking does require quite a few vitamins to neutralise the free radicals it creates.

Pot can also just make you apathetic, and when you are not fully engaged in life, you do feel less vital.

Addition, it may also be a good idea to have immunoglobulin levels checked.

You may also have serum protein electrophoresis performed with this, it does depend on the lab.

Smoking pot causes gynocomastia! I know two people with the "Big Tits"! Also they have infections constantly.

Do you know if it is your lymphocytes or neutrophils that are low?

I would assume lymphocytes, have you ever had a T and B cell subset analysis?

Have you been tested for various viruses?

Gyno from pot smoking? Maybe if the person already has a problem with it. But someone with NO gyno issues will not sprout tits from smoking pot.

And drugs are bad, Mmm-Kay!

Unfortunately, I'm the only loser I know who can get his hands in all kinds of AAS, but would not be able to find a joint without contacting old college buddies who always seem to have the hookup. So I have nothing to contribute. :(

Yes, HIV, CMV and Hep B.

They can't do anything about Herpes, you could be a carrier, but if you are immunosuppressed you would think you are getting symptoms.

I blaze and am generally very healthy. Pot doesn't directly suppress the immune system. It can put some aditional load on it, but not enough to make you more prone to serious disease.

Have I ever mentioned that I find intelligence to be the sexiest thing about a woman. And you have it in spades.

I would suggest living as healthy a lifestyle as possible.

There is a lot you can improve with diet.

It would be your white cells (B-cells, probably secreting IgM) attacking other white cells.

Do you know the name, haematologists always have names for the diseases.

my lifestyle is perfect, it has been for years. I train hard, eat right, supplement, sleep well. The pot has no effect. its idiopathic, so the cause is unknown. If i get a virus, then it acts up. Ive had ITP for years, then grew out of it. I guess i just have to monitor my immune system for the rest of my life.

I was told the name today, but i forgot it.

my DR said theres nothing i can do to help or hurt it, my immune system does what it wants to do.
