Hi Guys,
Really would appreciate some advice here!
Basically I use to be a competitive bodybuilder in my mid twenties and took various courses of gear always followed the standard PCT at the time.
Anyways that all stoped when I was around 28 I am now 32 I still body build and train but just for my own self confidence and appearance I take no steroids and have not since I was 28 and ever since I have been feeling unwell I could never really describe the way I was feeling but I just knew something wasn’t quite right some days I would feel really ill..
I had all sorts of blood tests done over the last few years and nothing ever came back and I continued to feel the same.
Earlier this year I moved and this changed my Doctor due to moving I had a routine check up and decided to yet again tell this “new” doctor how I was feeling always open and honest and told him I had used gear in the past he decided to do blood work on my hormones and the results came back low as detailed below. The only reason I never thought the way I was feeling was due to low test was because I never had any problems with erections but now I have realised this “ill feeling” all started not too long after I stopped taking gear.
Serum Testosterone – 13.9 nmo/L Normal Range 8.6 - 29
LH – 3 iu/L Normal Range 2 - 9
FSH – 3 iu/L Normal Range 2 -12
The Doctor then decided to send me to see a specialist consultant a Urologist who inspected me and took more blood tests which came back the same as the above Serum Test was marginally different 13.6 nmo/L
The consultant has decided he wants to put me on Nebido (4 ml 1000mg Testosterone undecanoate) this is a very slow releasing form of testosterone that is prescribed and injected once every 10 weeks the consultant has then made another appointment for 6 months time to see how im getting on in the meantime my GP will monitor liver , kidney functions prostate ect just to ensure the Nebido is not causing me any problems
Unfortunately the doctors and consultants here in England are not very experienced when it comes to sports medicine and im wondering if this is the right way to go as im only 32 if I end up on HRT for the rest of my life will it shorten my life or harm me? However if this makes me feel better maybe it’s the right thing I just don’t know and wanted some more opinions.
Any advice and opinions are very much appreciated!
