Low natty test? Input please...

Hey all. I went to my doctor because of some problems I was having (low sex drive, some erection problems, mild anxiety and mild fatigue) and he tested my total test and it was surprisingly low for my age 28. I registered 16 with the range being 8-30 mmol/L. For the more common range of about 280 to 1000 that converts to a reading of 470. Sorry I can't remember the units but I can look them up if necessary. Free test was not tested for I'm not sure why.

I've read online (I know, I'm no MD) that anything under 500 can lead to low test symptoms. I also saw that a reading of 470 is an average level for an 80 year old yet my doctor told me I was normal and testosterone was not my problem. I have been experiencing some low test symptoms ever since puberty but I always dismissed them with another explanation. I was also tested at 24 and registered 430. My doc told me it was low but not low enough to supplement. He told me levels fluctuate so much that i shouldn't put too much stock into that number so I just forgot about it and chalked any problems/feelings I had up to something other than low test.

Any thoughts or advice bros?

I have never cycled anything...wondering how this test level would effect any cycling or if I'm a cadidate for HRT etc...
 
You're test level isn't that bad. what are your stats, health, lifestyle like? Do you drink, smoke, take any medications like anti-depressants? All those things can lover test levels or cause low libido. Might want to try some natural methods first and see if you can get a boost. ie diet, exercise, supplements etc. cycling would give you a temp test boost but then you would end up likely with lower nat tatty levels than before.

I don't drink or smoke or take any medications. My lifestyle is basically a lot of bjj/wrestling training competitions plus strength and conditioning. I balance that with working full time. I have shift work...but my total test was actually lower before I started so not sure how much of a factor that is.

My general health is OK although my immunity seems to be shit. I have a yearly physical and the doc says I'm very healthy but I seem to be sensitive to colds, skin infections, etc...

SHAVAS - I'm not that familiar with natural methods. Could you please point me in the right direction?

Steve SMI I'm not sure what kind of poor lifestyle choices you're referring to that would hinder libido...

Referring to bad fats foods, alcohol, drugs. Depression from pressure, x girlfriends, x wifes, having babies, being stressed these will low test like no other! High blood pressure, diabities, estridrol, progesterone....

Your test is fine.

Try taking 100mg of zinc a day. Good multi vit and get good fats esp monosaturated, ah little LITTLE satruated, vit a, d, e, play big roles as well as omegas! Fatty acids. Protien! Big... Aminos BIG to break down protiens

You could look into the following

Unleashed
Bridge
Hcgenerate
D-aa
Tribulus
Zinc
Multi vit

If its just libido tho its other things not test. At a 299 which am my sex drive is thru the roof i mean ill screw someones ol lady and watch some porn after and shoot agian.
 
In MY opinion....your test levels arent that super. First try natty shit. Unleashed, HCgenerate(and im not affiliated with these companies, the shit just works) for a while and get bloods again and see if this helps. Pay attention to diet too. That can have an impact. As can sleep. If i had to try and guess a problem with your current life style I would guess you dont sleep enough???
If this doesnt help then I would seek a doc that agrees with you or a HRT clinic. I know if my natty test was in that range I would feel like ass. If its the medical level for someone 70 + yet he wont help you then find another doc.

Cycling AAS will make you feel great. But you will return to where your at or maybe worse afterwards.

ALSO>>>>>> if you go HRT route through a doc and not a HRT clinic....alot of docs dont know their ass from a hole in the ground about HRT. Dont let them sell you bullshit like an injection once every 2 or 3 weeks. Thats a worse roller coaster ride than the way you feel now and its not healthy.
Injections only (fuck that cream/gel bullshit) once a week. Keep telling them to eat shit until you find a doc willing to work with you and your goals. Remember they work for you!!

As said above though....if its ONLY libido....then its probably not test as an issue.
 
Libido for me is not the only problem...it is actually kind of up and down. What is more consistent for me is anxiety and brain fog, plus mild fatigue.
 
I would try a good natty stack first with perhaps some mucuna pruriens (20-50% L-dopa) and maybe some good divanil or other shbg reducer.
 
At levels around the same as yours, I have been a strong and horny MF'er. It's easy to convince yourself that you need more test but you are in the normal range. Fatigue and anxiety could be a million things.
You should also get your free test checked. And those natural test boosters work, so I agree with what others said about that.
Your nuts are making test for you. Don't think about shutting them down in your 20's.
 
a lot of guys who train like that are 'over trained' or under rested or under eating.

do you use glutamine? i would do a few things before you really think about hrt

1 get to 10% bf dont cut just start eating healthy.. something like the zone 50% fat, 30% protein, 20% carbs focus on getting in lots of good fats EVERY day.

2 religiously have a good protein shake with some carbs pre and post workout. every workout. lifting, bjj whatever. you dont have go go crazy but have something asap after training.

3 if u want try adding glutamine pre and post workout as well

4 sleep more

5 drink more water

do that for 2 months and then get rechecked

I have a decent knowledge of proper diet but I'm not that knowledgeable about "healthy fats". Could someone point me in the right direction as far as good sources for these, amounts, etc... I take fish oil, eat salmon, trout, etc... Otherwise I don't pay much attention to healthy fat intake and I'm not sure where to start...

As far as all the natural test boosters that have been mentioned in this thread, do they all work in a similar manner or do they all have their own pros and cons based on the individual and their goals, etc...

Judo Tom thanks for the advice. I have just recently started taking glutamine so I haven't noticed any effect yet. I will try to clean up my diet and drop my bf %

Just follow the label directions. (Though some greedy bastards double the dose. lol It does work well that way. : )

You do know where to start because you already started. From there, add olive oil, nuts, peanut butter, avacados, flax seed.

They aren't all the same. Some increase free test by binding to SHBG, (those with stinging nettle, divalnilliltetrahydrafuran) some are supposed to increase total test (fadogia, DAA). Some have bogus ingredients that don't do anything. :)
What I did was go to bodybuilding.com and look at all the test boosting products and google the ingredients. It takes some effort, but soon you will recognize the stuff that actually has some science behind it.
Since they can work differently I like to switch them up to keep my body from over doing or getting used to one type.

from what I read is a natural test booster, when ur on cycle ur natural test gets suppressed, this product brings it back up and when ur off it do they stay there or they come back down, so what ur saying is double dose ?

It increases the bioavailable testosterone you already have. Doubling the dose helps some guys but I think it's more in the libido department. Can't hurt.
 
Headholio....Do you have any advice about how much and how often to take olive oil, flax seed and avacado?

Not really. I don't think of it as "taking" it, It's just part of my diet, with the exception of fish oil which I take as capsules to get about 1.5 g of omega 3 per day. Fruit and nuts with peanut butter for breakfast, olive oil in cooking, salads with avacado for dinner, fish for dinner as much as I can, you know.
I used to take flax seed mixed with water and psillium every day, but have skipped the flax lately, but that's an awesome before bed supp. Really gets the digestion going.
