French Rivera !!! That's were I used to work out before I moved. Is what's his name still envolved over there his last name is Gaubert he used to own Grecian Gym in Marrero years ago. He like won the NPC Nationals in the light heavy weight division a long time ago, short guy about 5' 5" - 5' 6".

when my employer was paying for half of elmwood, it wasn't too bad. now that the bastids stopped paying, it's gotten expensive there. too many geezers too.

How old is he? I think the guy I'm talking about is much older probably in his 40's by now. I don't know if the smoothie shop was around when I was there. They were still doing work to the downstairs I think they were getting ready to put in a pool or something.

It's been over 8 years ago? I was at French Riviera on the east bank and Manhattan Health Club on the west bank so no matter which side of the river I was on I could go work out.

Do you know his dad's name? He used to drive a school bus for Jefferson Parish Schools on the westbank while he owned Grecian, then when I was at F.R. years later he was over there I even got to work out with him once.

Yeah it's the one on Veterans Blvd. in Metairie at the time word was they were getting ready to put a pool in. Guess they changed plans.
 
the internet access on the stationary bikes didn't last very long.......just have television monitors now......squatted on by old geezers watching opra at full volume......

crowley,la. been there many times.my friends owned a "curves for women" in crowley. laffayette has
red lorell's. that place is packed with equipment. of all the gyms I've visited in the US...red lorell's is
the most equiped,if not one of the largest of them all.

for anyone interested...there's a power meet at Doc Rhodes gym in Gulfport this sat. 11th aug. but alas it'll be poly'd and piss tested. I'm going to watch a bud of mine in the old geezer's division. I was hoping to try out my new radical cut double denim velcro for maybe a 590-605 3rd or 4th attempt. I could pass a poly with a couple of valium,but not the tee tee test. oh well,I'll drink enough beer to drown my disappointment :)

Im originally from New Orleans.I lived there for about 25 yrs.Most of that time on the West Bank,Marrero,Harvey,Gretna...Lived in Harahan for awhile.I used to train at the French Riviera on Berhman Hwy.Damn I miss New Orleans especially after reading this thread.
