Losing your size and strength after quiting AAS?

got2getripped

New member
This question is for vets that have been big I mean like around 250lbs or over reaching IFBB heavyweight pro size. After you quit juicing did you lose most or all of your strength and size? The reason I ask this question is because I keep hearing from people that supposedly know people that were huge and as soon as they quit juicing they lost everything?

I have a hard time believing a guy thats 6'0 240-250lbs huge and shredded that claims to be all natural though.

What do you mean loose it all? And what do you mean quit? Forever, Cycle???
I'm 6'4" 255 so i think i fit your specs for this Q But if you quit gear period and keep lifting, yes you're going to naturally loose the muscle mass you gained slowly. You wouldn't loose necessarily everything, but remember what you looked like b4 you started gear? Your natural genetics only let you get SO big, size that is gained on gear is sustained by staying on gear or cycling.

So basically you will revert back to the size you were when you started. I mean quit taking gear, like "stop", like quit smoking.

In college (early 80's) I benched 365x2 and squatted about 450 at 200 lbs. I quit training around 91 til last year. I kept a fair amount of size (a lot of which I had before juice) but I probably lost about 100 lbs on bench and 150 off the squat. I benched 275 at 173 lbs before I started juicing.

Yes, eventually depending upon youre gains you know...if you had alot, you'll keep them for a little longer than the small gains if that's what you got

No, you won't. I've been training for 16 years, and been on and off again with AAS for 7-8 years. I have been off of everything for almost a year, other than a maintenance dose of test that is Dr. prescribed. Granted I have phenomenal genetics..(not bragging, just stating) We'll see in 5-6 years what happens bodywise....but the slow burn of the last year or so, I have seen 265-280 @ 6-9% go to a solid 255 @ 10-12% (I'm barely 6')

My daughter's need a flexible dad to kick the soccer ball around, and after turning 30, it was high time to take a long look at things, and decide what was important.

What you lose depends on you, genetics play a huge role, but diet and training are equally as important. :)

That's really good to read coming from somebody of your size. Goddamn man, nice physique!

All you guys that have posted so far it's good to know there are guys on here that have achieved so much, giving advice. Thanks

What about gains you might have made while taking Anavar. You here guys talk all the time about how the gains you make on Anavar are keepable if you do a correct PCT? I've gone from 170 to about 184, but the gains have been slow and steady over about a 6 week period. opinions?

What's the motive behind your question, RippaNugga?

Are you thinking of dropping AAS use forever?

You don't have to, you can run moderate cycles for the rest of your life if you wish and you'll retain your gains so long as the training and nutrition are on point.
