What's the harm in looking? Put yourself out there becuase you never know what might come along, even ITE. I'm still employed. I'm just making a choice to actively look at other options, even if it means taking a severe pay cut.

I hear ya.
My web design/marketing biz is starting to take off and I'm thinking about ditching the security of the day job, even if I do make less dinero initially.
You just got the seven year itch, or did someone piss you off?
No, I'm just tired of fighting the same battles day in and day out.
I'm not trying to hear that phrase - severe pay cut. I'm underemployed/underpaid as it is. The harm would be looking for a job that pays more when people more qualified than I already willing to take less for the same job. I'm not unhappy enough here to take less somewhere else.
Oh, I'm quite unhappy.

I don't think you'd need to expect a pay cut of any sort. You have demonstrated experience in a very lucrative field. And like you said you are currently employed. Two very large assets in any job search.
Girl I think you are exactly the applicant a headhunter would like to meet if that's a route you'd consider.

lol No. Ive been with this company for over 4 yrs. In August 2008 they promoted me and along with that i was transferred to Wisconsin where I am now.
It would have to be some pretty miserable battles. I've discovered I was able to tolerate a whole lot of horseshit for sufficient compensation (says the woman who is now underpaid so she can have the privelege of working from home, by herself, and setting her own hours ...) My last job really burned me out for working for someone else.

i stopped looking, because I was so busy at work, which also translated to me being appreciated. that, along with a raise, made me okay to stay where I am.
BUT, there are PLENTY of days where I HATE it here... like, I'm working till 7pm every night, with a ton of stress and responsibility, and nobody seems to realize i have a family and my own life when they schedule me to do something at 5pm on a friday night. Then i'm made to feel really bad if i have to leave at a reasonable time.
