lolol @ this commercial

I didnt mean gov, I meant FDA and the drug companies. my bad

did u see how many side effects were listed on that commercial? who the fuck would take that pill

My girl is bipolar. She never wants to take her meds. From what I've been told that is not uncommon. It gets really hard to see her depressed, thou.

1. Glad, you're not always the brightest bulb in the box.

2. I happen to think the idea of advertising prescription medications to the general public IS fucking stupid, and consider for a moment the implications that America is the only country that still allows it.

3. Seroquel is an atypical antipsychotic used primarily to treat schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. The people who are taking this drug can't "talk their problems out" or "suck it up and get over it." Every antipsychotic (actually, pretty much every drug that has neurologic effects) has some potentially heavy duty side effects.

I have no idea what this means:confused: I agree with Glad taking pills is stoopid as fuck, unless it's hydros or steroids, in which case I am totally for it.:)

What's not to understand?

1. Glad is dumb, I think that's been pretty well established by the boy himself. No crime in his being stupid, just the fact that he's mocking the side effects when he probably doesn't even know what the medication is prescribed for.

2. I don't think medication that requires a physician's prescription should be advertised to the general public. It causes WAY more problems than it helps.

3. Medications that affect your brain often have some very scary side effects. However, the conditions the medications are treating are frequently life threatening, too.

I totally agree with you on points 2 and 3. But I think Glad is a genius in the making, much like his e-daddy SB.:)

Oh, I have no doubt it would do something. The potential side effects are frightening and it has a lot of contraindications as well as meds that it interacts with. There's lots of meds out there that taking them if you don't need them you can have a lot of fun with, but this shit, no way. People who NEED this drug generally don't like it, but the alternative is no life at all.

To hazard a guess, it's used to treat people whose minds don't work right, who are having racing or uncontrollable thoughts, but not people who are demented, so I suspect it stills the mind. There's a LOT of warnings about drowsiness effects so it does that too. And then it can screw with the way you think, trigger obsessive or even suicidal thoughts.

When faced with the following:

A. Do not take medication and possibly ruin your life, kill yourself and/or others
B. Take medication that will make you feel better, have control over your life and maybe have serious negative side effets

Which would you chose? I'd go with B hence why this medication exists...

Believe it or not my doc gave me this as a sleep aid.
Talk about using a cannon to kill a fly ... that's a totally off label use, BTW.

I sincerely hope he warned you about the potential sides, if not, you should do a little research just to be on the look out.

Like I said, a lot of people who take the drug really don't care for it, they find the sides quite unpleasant.
