This place is right in the middle of downtown/lower downtown in Denver. It's a good mix of music and people. Mostly younger wimminz too.

lol, lotsa club type girls there too. It's half hip hop and half country. The last songs are always slow country songs, which is pretty fun...

I can bust a move with hip hop for sure, but then my mood wood be killed when they stopped the hip and played the country. I have to be in a good mood or I can't buzz and have fun. I went to a club last weekend and it happened to be latin night there. We left after an hour because I just couldn't get into the music. I wanted to dance so we hit up a club that was all hip hop. Good cardio! ;)

i fuckin hate latin music. plenty of girls i know love it though

my latin friends call me a "repentido" which basically implies im ashamed of my culture. fuck off. just because i dont like shitty music or conform to the sense of entitlement hispanics in miami have with speaking spanish

ha, that's hilarious. A while ago, me, beefcake, and his gf at the time went to a place that ended up being ''spanish music night''. We didn't even go in.

i'm a northeastern asshole. that goes against everything i stand for

Yep my hubby is the same way and so is his bro. They say they are like white boys with little more brown skin. lol

Yeah I couldn't get into that shit at all. My girlfriend could tell I was so bored. She was latina too and she didn't like the music either. We had a few free drinks and then we left and hit up another place. We had a blast once we got to the other place. Playing lots of good jams.

Cindy are you serious?? Girl!! We would have fun shopping together, but can't go drinking with you if you want to listen to country. lol

That's a lot skinnier version of me from a year ago... I gave up trying to keep in cycling shape. That picture was taken climbing a 15% grade at 8000ft altitude up a mountain pass here in CO, hardest ride I've ever done.

One day when we go drinking we wont listen to country I promise lol

Toby Keith has never had a negative song. they are all funny.

They are mostly about drinking in Mexico while on vacation, THINKING about drinking in Mexico while on vacation, drinking in a bar, THINKING about drinking in a bar so-in-so's FAVORITE bar, tons of songs about beer, pina coladas, songs about going to the lake and drinking, margaritas and sand sunshine and whiskey.

I dont listen to the sad ones, lol no way.

i understand it completely...depending on who's speaking it. certain country's dialects fuckin suck

i suck at speaking it though. only makes me more flustered/nervous when i try to speak that the person already ASSUMES i speak spanish. i say certain things in spanish though..especially pet names and when im being flirty/in bed

no matter where i go in this city im greeted in spanish. but...even the super anglo looking blond haired blue eyed girl i was talking to last night told me the same thing happens to her. they just find a justification to categorize anybody as hispanic/spanish speaking

i'm more proud of my culture around white people lol. when im immersed it i get disgusted by the sense of entitlement

yeah its interesting. lumberg gre up in costa rica and venezuela and so he speaks it fluently. but he isnt hispanic. around DC there are LOTS of spanish speaking immigrants and so anytime he comes across someone who speaks spanish, he automatically gets into speaking spanish and having conversation with them (he feels a connection i suppose) and i think at first, they are surprised that he's so fluent and all. but im sure they appreciate being able to converse in their own language (this is mostly people who work at restaurants, etc)
even the contruction crew we hired to do all the work on our house to prepare for listing it on the market is all spanish speaking lol so he has to do all the communication with them. i understand a little but buit i dont really speak it.

Did your parents never speak to you in spanish or did you learn it young and stop using it and lost it?

Hubby gets real uncomfortable speaking spanish too. He knows spanish and speaks it with his parents, but with strangers he tends to stutter a little because he gets nervous. The problem is most people that try to speak spanish with him are from mexico so their spanish of course is very good. Lots of words they say he doesn't even know what they mean. If his parents never said a certain word to him then he doesn't know it. He knows enough to definitely get by, but he doesn't feel like he is awesome at it like some because he is too americanized. His family kind of laughs at him and teases him that our daughters speak better spanish than him. Hopefully they never lose it.

That is good your hubby speaks to them in spanish because if you don't use that you definitely lose it. I took two years of spanish in high school and lost so much. Of course now when I hear it I think "oh yea I remember that word". You have to keep up with it!

well, my mom is the cuban one..and yes, believe it or not spanish was my first language. but that changed realllllll quick

she stopped speaking it in the house. i'm the youngest, so i never got the benefits of it.my mom was too tired at that point lol
my sister is fluent (yet she looks very asian), my brother was too..but he pretty much forgot most of it when he learned japanese.

mexican spanish is really weird. some of their phrases and what not. Alot of other hispanics consider the mexican way of spanish low class (but the light skin/european looking/richer mexicans dont really use alot of the same slang that some of the strawberry pickers do lolol)

your husband sounds alot like me

Yeah that is the problem he said is too much slang is used so it is hard for him sometimes to understand things.

I'm very open minded music wise.
You have to be 26 years old or under?

Country music(mainstream) is the most popular music in the country, and has been for years

just sayin
some of it is geigh tho, I agree

the only reason I even started to like country is because that is what they listen to at work. After 3 years or so not giving a hoot about it, it finally drilled into my head and I gradually started to like it.

hey! lol wtf? That is so not true about country music!

What about the song red high heels? that is such a cute girl song

and Miranda Lambert - taking her shotgun and shooting her cheating boyfriend called 'Gunpowder and lead'. that song is awesome! lol

I'm no hick
the stereotypes here against country music, are worse than the american car thread.

there's major truth in both statements.

i never said you were a hick.

you said that it was the popular music in the US for years. fact

i said that most of america is comprised of hicks and yokels. fact

1 + 1 = 2

doesnt mean that everyone that likes country is a hillybilly, i have a few friends that do...and i make fun of them for it but you cant deny the exposure of country music in hill billy areas
