Any mature worker who shows up 15 minutes late or more should KNOW they are have a punishment coming, taking away the equal amount of break time is totally fair.

I guess it never crossed your mind that the employees are acting like children and need to be treated as such to get the desired results. Being late is very disrespectful. I've let a lot of guys go due to be being disrespectfully late on numberous occassions.

What about if it was a first or second time and they apologized when they came in? If i turn up 10 or 15mins late i apologise and get straight to work, if you sleep in it happens so what everyone makes mistakes, If it were to happen on a regular basis then i can understand disciplinary, but cutting someones break off to me is fucken retarded then they would just be less productive and less willing to work for the company, A warning being it verbal or whatever suits their needs would be a better alternative and more of a deterrent would it not?

I believe you're entitled to one 30 minute lunch plus a 15 minute break if you work 8 hours, but if you're 15 minutes late you're only working 7:45. I seriously doubt they're staying late to make up for it.

I had a help desk job where they not only timed every call; they timed how long you took yourself out of the queue between calls (to document the call in the system). If the call was too long you should have just escalated it. If you were out of queue too long you need to type faster...or you were just lazy.
