Here I have two bottles of liquid var 25 ml 50mg/ml. I have a dropper that has .25,0.5,.75 and 1.0 ml marks. How much of it should be taken if I want 40mg daily.

Well without getting complicated just fill the dropper to right above th .75 mark. You want to take about .8 ml. That will let you run 40mg for about 62 days.

If I am splitting the dosage then I should be taking a notch below the 0.5 mark. correct?

My source is now claiming you take one full up to the 1.0 mark and another one at the .75 mark for a 40mg dosage. Then he says "the recomended dosage is 25mg ed"

Now I am seriously confused

Your source is wrong. Just follow natural's advice.
