The only time I use the command line now is if I'm cut and pasting a command from an online article. I've forgotten how to do most of that stuff anyway. I did it a lot on FreeBSD. You really don't have to know squat to use Ubuntu.
C'mon now... Linux still barfs if you throw hardware that's too new at it.
And once you move a hair off a standard PC platform, Linux gets incredibly ugly. I've got a TS-7800 upstairs I use on my spider robot (yeah, I'm a meganerd) that doesn't hesitate to hurt me the moment I tweak it.
