How do you fight temptation??

It's one thirty in the morning and I can't stop thinking about someone :worried: I can't sleep, my head is starting to hurt from over analyzing the situation.
How do you stop thinking/wanting someone????

Fully understanding that is the wrong person...you keep telling yourself walk away before its too late but nope you keep diggin a hole for yourself ..lol it doesn't make sense right?!

I wish I could just pick up and leave right now, run away for a little while
maybe go to Thailand or Brasil--get lost --eh wishful thinking though

we all wish we could be someone else, or graze in greener pastures once in awhile.
I am married I have the same problem, I keep think about someone else.
Even though I know if I was with that other women , It would all be the same only with a different person.
I guess we all live with silent pains inside

I kind of know how you feel. Was in love with the last women I was serious with but deep inside, I knew we weren't gonna be together forever. Everyday, I wondered is this the last time? It sucked. A part of me was dying everyday. Was deeply in distressed and uncontrolled situations had me down. Never was able to walk away from the relationship. Feelings so strong. I didn't want to see it. Somedays, I wanted to just leave the state. Questioned myself if I could move on or even function. For awhile I lost sight of who I was. I've been through more drastic things in my life then this. It's just that feelings of love were involved. Just the thought of seeing her would be to much for me to bare. You just got to find other activities to feel the void and hurt that is there. Seek friends and get closer to your family...those are the ones that will always be there for you no matter what. Sorry your feeling the way you are but things get better in time.

The time I was in this situation and I acted on these urges, I ended up realizing that this person wasnt 10% the person I betrayed........ It's never worth it. See k message.

No one is never what they seem to be though. Everyone always puts out there best foot foward first. Don't forget that.

Yeah........and then 2-3 weeks later you realize who they are.....and how much you gave up and how much you've hurt your loved one for nothing.

Regret only the out come. I wouldn't have given up. No quiter here. Things are different now though. She tried coming back to me 2 months ago. No one walks out on me.

I dont regret that things with me and the "other woman" didnt turn out. I'm glad they didnt. I regret that I turned my back on someone who loved me so much. I would do ANYTHING to go back and change that. It's like a big fat smear on a relatively decent life that I've lived.

The quickest way to get over a man is to get under another one.

HTH =-)

most women just give in to their emotions. its easier for a man to just get up and walk away.

he pretty much dig into your emotional side and "has you". you gotta be strong enough to just say no if he's not good for you. delete him out of your life

oh..and trust me, the longer it drags on the more painful it will be for everybody(but usually 1 person in particular).

it'll just be a clusterfuck and you never know how bad it will truly get.

So, you're thinking about cheating on your current SO or do you realize that you should leave your current SO?

Are you in good shape? Do you work out? Then you know all about dedication and hard work and sacrifice. Where will you be in 6 months if you ate like shit, stopped working out? Where will you be in a year? 2 years?

Ask yourself where will you be with this guy in 2, 6 months? 1 year, 2 years? Your answer, is your answer.

Sorry I can't offer any advice. My ex was bad news for me and it wasn't until I finally moved out of the state that I was able to move on. Best decision I ever made.

do tell....

Not a lot to tell. He cheated on me and me being young and dumb believed him when he said he wouldn't do it again. Well he did and he always cared more about his friends. I finally got the strength to ignore the heart and follow my brain and do the right thing. The funny thing is after I moved 6 months of being gone he was crying and begging for me to come back. He even dropped out of school a semester because he was too messed up. He broke my heart and in the end I left him with a broken heart. He said it's true you don't know what you have until it's gone.

I just remember that the grass isn't greener, it's just different grass....

Thank you everyone!

Gonelifting-->Im trying to apply that same rule: dedication and moving on but its easier said then done. I haven't returned his calls for the past two weeks, but the thing is I can't get him off my mind. Maybe that is making me want him even more.
Logically I understand that 2,3 hell a month from now its not gonna go anywhere. I could so see him breaking my heart--I am not giving in (at least im trying not to)

I walked away from him before...I met him back in december, we starting dating and I tried to push him away...i sort of try to sabotage my relationships if i see that im getting a little too close to someone..
so fast forward i ran into him a month ago and we started seeing eachother again...but in the meantime i found myself thinking about him..
Now i understand how bad we are for eachother but than again I think that I am not even trying, afraid of the reasons i stated above

I dont know...a little confusing right

I had the same experience from my previous relationship, I don't want to make the same mistake twice.
In a way I am glad it happened, I dont regret anything--It did make me soooo much stronger and heartless.

I think that we clash, we both have strong personalities. In order for a relationship to work it needs to have some sort of balance. I could already see it, if we were to have a fight it would get pretty nasty. I've learned how to let things go but it takes 2 to tango. I have seen him get angry and its pretty scary, he gets this blank look in his face- i dont want to see it again

i'd like more details as well, loving someone really does suck after awhile.
I'm scared to death to get into another relationship.

MAybe you push his buttons the wrong way and it just puts him off. Ive had women like that who just piss me the hell off to no end but I still see hope with the relationship instead of cutting them loose. If you both have strong personalities sounds like you are equally to blame. Ive dated women with strong personalities and a lot of the time it just bleeds over into "bitchiness", which would piss any decent guy off.

I am too...I try to find excuses to push people away
I know no one is perfect, i am not perfect
I am scared to go through that pain again so i run away
I don't want to end up lonely though, right now I am not-i keep busy with work and i have a great family so its a bit easier
But down the road i do want that emotional connection

No we haven't had a fight yet, i think its too soon for that...but i've seen him get angry at somone else, i know how he gets-and i know myself as well. I am just thinking ahead.

Its not going to work out with anyone if you find a way to sabotage the relationship, or find ways to push people away. I used to do that and it didnt matter what sort of girl I was with, I found a way to push her away. Gotta work on yourself first. Its all fear really. People are afraid to get close to people because of past hurt. So if you think you could get close to someone, you find a way to sabotage the relationship so you dont have to get close, which means you wont ever get hurt.

You gotta be able to take emotional risks... that what living is all about, plus having a strong personality is never a detractor... having a huge ego unchecked is a different story... moreover you don' know if he will react with anger to a loved one on the same level... I've seen my father go ballistic insane on other people but even though he has a temper, would never ever pull that shit with my mother. I don't really have a temper, and have never exploded on an S O... so thats the only example I could think of.

i call bullshit on that, you've never flipped out on a SO. You've never starting yelling real loud and shit like that?

Pricesa, good luck to you. We've all been there and have to find our own way out.

My own story starts with a girl that I dated off and on for about 3 years. She was the first real love of my life and I continued to see her as I dated other girls over the years.

We always knew that it wouldn't end up anywhere, but we still carried on. I finally decided to end it by doing something (ie walking out of her brother's party) one night and didn't see her again for about ten years. That was enough time for us to move on (I got married with kids and she got married). I still think about her from time to time, but the 'feeling' isn't there anymore. It's like I'm watching a movie and I'm trying to understand why the main character (me) took so long to do this.

I'm sure ten years from now you'll be looking back and wondering why you put yourself through so much drama with this person. The trick is "How do you get to the ten year mark from here"?

Good luck!

Okay your'e right... but I never unleashed like I really, really, really wanted too.... like I would kick it back to 7 when I just wanted to obliterate her... good call, dumb statement... I guess I specifically meant I've never said anything that would cut so deep as to leave scars or shit like that... wanted too and have the wit and capacity to do so... but thank god I haven't... yet.

I put it all out there and said hurtful shit when I broke with my EX. I was really mean, and that is probably why she refuses to talk to me at all.
I meant everything I said though so i have no regrets, i did what I had to do.

Yeah, but you gotta be kinda regretful that you cut into her that bad, I mean deep down nobody wants to cut into other people unless they've been really fucked with... but the more you love somebody the more you are gonna hate them... I'm sure you wanted to be direct with her and really clarify how much she hurt you or whatever and have her feel that pain, but shit I don't ever want that shit to last with someone... I want them to get a glimpse but not so that it impairs them or shit like that...
It all goes back to your world views... I don't believe anything is random, its not predetermined either, but the outward simply reflects the inner's patterns of awareness and so you are gonna be drawn to people for a certain reason... and in that relationship there is a lesson that must be learned... that is why I say go for it... you already are to the point princesa where you know you are going to, all this talk is a formality, you have already crossed threshold... so just be aware and go for it...

I do sometimes question whether it was the right move, but that bitch needed to hear me out. We were together 4 years and I think she actually agreed with alot of the stuff I was saying, but I was flipping the fuck out when I said it. Over time I think she'll come realize i'm not a bad guy, but that shit could take years which sucks. Not that I wanna get back with her right now, but who knows what I'll want down the road. I would honestly be really happy just to be distant friends.

I wanna karma bookie whether or not she seeks him out...
heart vs head...
not even close...

yep...same exact same shit here bro (including your other post)

personally, you gotta be prepared for it to never happen(talking again). if it does, it does and it has no bearing either way.

logic is what would prevent women from getting involved in crazy situations (or some men for that matter)

theres no logical reason women love bad boys or date abusive men/scumbags. its all emotional. emotional decisions get you into trouble. period
