Libido issues

Ok so a buddy of mine has been having erectile dysfunction problems recently, and by erectile dysfunction i mean he cant even get hard. I was sure it had to do with either his estrogen being high or prolactin but he then proceeded to tell me he was recently taken off of Prozac. He has never used any sort of performance enhancing drugs.

Can someone explain to me how exactly Prozac effects your sex drive and any possible solutions to help my friend fix his erectile dysfunction.

Thanks

Very simply put, erectile dysfunction is probably the top side effect of Prozac. Prozac takes 2-3 weeks to build up effectiveness in the bloodstream, so I'd expect a good 3-4 weeks for it to clear his system, and his erections to return to somewhat normal.

these types of drugs manipulate bloodflow and the brain. of course they are gonna fuck up libido.

i agree with jester.. its gonna take a few weeks to clear out but he should definately get on some sort of libido enhancing NATURAL supplement. do not touch viagra or cialis, he wants to clear out drugs out of his system not add more .. tell him to get on T stack Rx. here is a writeup you can show him and the codes http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/a...-before-test-stack-rx-came-along-1257623.html .. tell him to run 3 caps a day for 30 days.. he will feel so much better :)

Appreciate the responses guys. It's been about 8 weeks now though since he stopped it and his problem still hasn't improved. Why could that be?

8 weeks should have been plenty long enough. I did find this though:

"Many antidepressants, including Prozac (fluoxetine), Paxil (paroxetine), Zoloft (sertraline), Celexa (citalopram), Effexor (venlafaxine), Lexapro (escitalopram) and Pristiq (desvenlafaxine), can cause sexual side effects. Some studies have found that one-third to two-thirds of patients taking such drugs may experience lower libido, reduced arousal and delayed climax. Some complain of genital "anesthesia" and orgasm without pleasure.
Although many doctors assume that such side effects will disappear shortly after people discontinue their antidepressants, that may not always be true. One review of case reports concluded that certain antidepressants "can cause long-term effects on all aspects of the sexual response cycle that may persist after they are discontinued" (Journal of Sexual Medicine, Jan. 2008)."

That's what I thought to jester but like I said there hasn't been any improvement. What can he do? Will a natty libido booster like unleashed or test stack help or is there something else he will need to do

No idea. If he did some type of long-term or permanent damage to himself as a result of taking Prozac, only a medical professional is going to be able to assess that and help.
You can try the natty products like Unleasehed, Test Stack, etc., but I think his best best is seeing a doctor.

all a doc will do is give him more drugs.

his best bet is T stack Rx. 12 herbs in 1 and they will plump his nuts up and there is a 110% money back guarantee. have him use my link http://w3.teststackrx.com/109.html and codes Buy 2 get 1 free GET1FREE (make sure you have 3 in your cart before applying)
or 20% off HZI7WTBZ

.. i would load up on the stuff and run it 3 caps a day .. there is no doubt in my mind he will feel a lot better on this stuff.

That's true Steve, a doctor will probably just use more drugs to treat the symptoms and not the cause. I never thought of that.
Maybe the natural route should be exhausted first in this case.

Yes its a common side effect with PROZAC and even PAXIL.
