Let us all follow this new reality show and comment on EF...

Kenny won by Dr. Stopage. He was getting pumbled by chris and when he had his back on the gate he gave chris a great elbow to his face and split chris' brow open wich caused the fight to stop. It was a very good timed shot. BUT i hate when chris looses by judges. He would have won that fight. I hiope to see him fight in the future. But hey, Kenny did what he had to do, and he wasnt too bruised after. So Hey! Good Luck to both fighters in the future.

But i cant wait for Diego to kick Kroscheck's ass lol.
 
i think chris would have knocked out kenny sooner or later he was landing some good shots kenny must have a good chin ,it seemed chris might have punched himself out

Chris was landing hard shots but they looked like they were on kennys head. Right at the begging Chris landed a hard one on Kennys face, I dont know how kenny took that and and fought for like 6 total min. getting puched contiously. AHAHHA kenny has the weakest looking body of any 185lb I ever seen in any sport. I do give him props for taking a beating and not giving up. Deigo will win now easy.
 
Dammit, I was so disappointed. I was pulling for Leben to win this competition. Leben vs. Diego would have been great, oh well. Diego should win next week, because it doesn't look like Josh has anything besides grappling, and this isn't wrestling, it's fighting. For the heavyweights, I predict Sam getting knocked out by either Bobby or Forrest, both seem to hate the guy. Bonner should be able to take care of Swick. Bonner vs. Bobby rematch would be cool with Bonnor winning by the judges again. Hah.
 
Previews showed Josh getting a good takedown/slam on Diego, but I would pick Diego to win. I think Swick will beat Stephan & probably Bobby on the other side.
 
I wonder if swick is any good. The old Leben vs Swick fight did not give me great confidence in his abiltiy. I cant imagin Sam being any good. He looks fat and weak but then again who am I to judge some one I have never seen or meet.
 
Man i cant believe bobby is back. i really dislike that guy,besides the fact that he allready had his chance in the big show, i think diego will take out crotch-check, and im hopping for the swickster also, but as you all know, any friggin thing can happen, murphy is alive and well in any type of combat....out
 
Chris was owning Kenny and I'm suprised as hell that Kenny didn't try taking it to the ground more. It is a shame that Chris got cut. He easily deserved the win up to the point of the stoppage. At least he lost to a class act who was respectfull to him and in a way that didn't make him look less skilled.

word on sherdog's forums is that Koscheck will be one of the most hated fighters in UFC history if he gets the contract b/c of his fighting (if you call it that) style. Nobody is arguing the incredible wrestling base that he has though.

If Josh spends much time in the Octagon, his style of half-assed aggression will get him dealt with by every guy with any kind of takedown defense plus standup skill or anybody with decent or better subs.
And yeah, he probably does think Bobby is a good person. In my experience, a lot of assholes think other assholes are cool.
Maybe he won't get any work in the UFC and has to go with Pride. He would be TOAST!

It seems like Sam sucks, but I don't have any evidence. He could be a sleeper like Alex was. I wish they could skip the challenges and show more sparring & training.
 
I want to see sakuraba fight little Joshie Koshie. Lets see college wrestling vs Japan "pro wrestling". I dont think his single leg take downs will work when he is being cartwheeled on and double hammer fisted. hahahah
 
you know, I allways wondered what style Sakuraba was. I heard wrestling, so I assumed freestyle, but he loves the Kimura which is a JiuJitsu move isn't it?

Maybe he's GracieKillerFu.. who knows ;).

Swick is generally a MiddleWeight he gained wieght to be a LHW for the show
so that might be why he looks abit 'fat'
I think he's a good fighter tho

Has anyone checked out Leben web site. hahah its got some funny stuff under traing tips. www.chrisleben.com 8. Line your mouthpiece with chew. This will help it stay in better, and it'll give you that extra boost of energy during your fight. I prefer Copenhagen.

I think he will, Stephan had a great showing against Bobby, yeah a little sloppy but he threw some hard punches and was able to hold his own on the ground. From what I understand, Mike used to be a middleweight, so the impact of a true light-heavyweight's punch may seriously put him out of commission. I suggest you watch the Leben vs. Swick video BBR posted a few posts up

"Nate Quarry vs. Lodune Sincaid will be a middleweight fight, as Sincaid moves down from light-heavyweight after his loss to Bobby Southworth during the TV series. Quarry was not able to fight during the series and had to leave the show due to an ankle injury suffered in training.

Chris Leben vs. Jason Thacker will also take place at middleweight. Thacker left the show in an "elimination ceremony" at the beginning of the series without ever having a chance to fight, but he was believed to be one of the lesser fighters on the show. Leben was actually eliminated twice. After first losing to Josh Koscheck via decision, Leben was brought back to the show when Nate Quarry had to leave the show due to injury. Josh Rafferty vs. Alex Karalexis is a battle of middleweights who were eliminated from the TV show by losing to the dominant-looking Diego Sanchez. Rafferty showed a large amount of heart in his fight with Sanchez by taking as much ground-and-pound punishment as he did, but the fact remains that it was an extremely one-sided fight that Sanchez won by submission."

Yeah I heard about that. How the hell are they going to fit all those fights in a two hour show though? Isn't it supposed to be live? What if all the fights go the distance? In any event, it should be an awesome finale. I hope Season 2 comes out soon
 
Man I hope Forrest can fight... I don't know why, but I like him for some reason. It'd be a shame if he can't continue. I also like Diego and can't wait to watch him fight Koshcheck. Man that guy is a prick.
 
What I wish I could see is Forrest vs Bobby.
Or Leben/Diego.

Yeah it would. Either tonight has two fights or next week's episode because the live finale is april 9th, leaving only two shows and three fights between now and then.
 
So another one goes to decision. Great fight though, that was a real battle and both fought pretty well.

Glad to see Diego get the win though as Koschek doesnt do enough when he has control on the ground. I really thought Diego was gonna sub him out.
 
that fight was awesome. Best one of the show. Koscheck got fucked up!! They should check him for a concussion/head damage.

who doesnt have a chance? Kenny or diego? i think diego is going to take his division. I think diego was extremely cautios of crotcheck's takedown and wrestling ability, maybe thats why? But they were both throwing huge punches at each other, they had to be tired. but im happy diego put those bruises on his forehead lol
 
Diego owned josh. I think when it went to the floor they fought on Diegos terms and standing josh didnt have a chance with those haymakers. I was suprised that Diego didnt summit him. Does anyone think kenny will even have a chance vs diego.
 
Awesome fight. Those knees to the face really did Josh in. And those ribs shots at the end of the fight were fantastic. Another round, and Josh would have tapped out. With some more experience, I think Diego can make a name for himself in the UFC. I wouldn't be suprised if he bulked up and moved up to light heavyweight in a few years.

I hope Forrest gets to fight. Bobby annoys me.
 
sorry shoulda been clearer,diego wont win if he fights like that against kenny, he gave up his back a few times and left himself open for heel hooks(ankle locks) kenny knows submissions and can take a hit and work the ground half decent

imo they both have potential but just arent near ufc material yet,maybe in a few years
 
Now, that's what I tune in to see! Good fight. I didn't know Diego threw knees like that.
At first, I would've said that Diego would easily walk right over Kenny, but after the Leben fight, I see that he's tougher than I thought. I still think Diego will pull it off.
If we could see more of the training/sparring, or the challenges were made to have a closer relation to any of the real elements of fighting, it'd be a lot easier to discuss who might do what in a fight.
Still enjoyed it, though.
Did you hear "B. South" as he calls himself, talking about how it was a BS decision?WTF?? What was BS, was that it sounded like (and correct me if I'm wrong) one judge had Josh winning every round. I think it was Trowbridge or something, but I had the TV volume too low to hear it clearly.

yep...Southy is simply a fucking asshole politician. He is allways justified and in the right in his head...no matter what. The wonders of the human mind eh?

There were a bunch of threads w/ many replies in the Sherdog forums all bitching about the judges decision as well. Many repliers e-mailed the UFC to complain. They all thought Diego was robbed of the UD.

The judges name was Glenn Trowbridge. I'm assuming she was the one who was running back to the table while they were tallying up the score. Maybe she wanted Josh's balls?

It's funny how Bobby is so ready to step up and "fulfill his dream"(or however he put it), since he was talking so casually a few episodes ago about not having a problem doing something else besides fighting in th UFC when he was possibly going to be eliminated for sucking.
 
good point.. It goes to show that Nate Quarry had a good read on him when he said, "Bobby is the most transparent person I've ever seen."

Isn't it ironic how he was making fun of Leben after losing to the decision, but then tried to comfort Koscheck when he was lying on the ground crying about the clearly fair decision? He's got double standards.

I want him to fight Sam b/c I've met and talked with Sam personally when he worked out @ the rec center @ our old college...he is NOT the asshole that the show makes him out to be. His style when I talked to him last was BJJ and supposedly, according to Sherdog, Sam trains with Mieletich fighting. He may just be a "sleeper" in this show. Southy had NO PROOF to back up his statements he made about Sam in last nights show. I hope Sam submits Southworth so he can finally STFU and he won't have a decision to bitch about.
 
I'd like to see Sam come out and be an impressive fighter as I dont think anyone has really shown UFC calibre yet.

Diego is the only one that has come close and I still wanted to see more aggression last night.
 
One thing that disappointed me about last night, besides the split decision, was the fact that both Diego and Josh were completely spent by the end of round 2. If they want to make it in the UFC and last 5 rounds, they really need to work on conditioning.

I'm looking forward to see Bonnar fighting again. His style is sloppy, but he packs a lot of action.

i was say the same thing to my wife while we were watching it ,they were gassed earlry for sure .
it was a good fight and dieago won for sure but i think josh could get alot better if he sticks with it
as far as sam goes i'd like to see him knock out bobby he has to be there for a reason he must know something about mma even tho he looks like a pussy
but some of the toughest guys i know look like pussys ,are quiet ,and tend to take shit from guys,but get them mad enough to start swining watch out
i think deiago takes it kenny seemed to out matched vrs.leban he only won because of a cut and i'm sure he knoiws that deep down the way chris was connecting it was only a matter of time before he caught kenny
looking forward to this wks fights just sucks the show is almost over but i think it will be back and will probully be better

I have not being following the show much but thought the fight was weak. Both fighters were afraid to mix it up. Diego let go of too many submissions with the guollitine choke. Josh simply throws roundhouses out of range and had hold of Diego's ankle when he was on the ground. Wake the fuck up Josh u had a ankle lock opening chance like 5 times.Also i feel some of the fighters need to step up thier conditioning. I would like to see the fighters work on there fighting ranges a little more.

he tends to be able to get someones leg almot whenever he wants
and some Sambo training would give him an option to do something with that leg...

Sam Got knocked out by Forest, and Swick got submited by Bonner in the last 2 seconds due to an arm bar.

Swick had some good reversals and so did Bonner, in fact i was impressed by swick, but i think bonner will take the title i dont think forest is strong enough to take bonner.

Forest was a little shaky fighing Sam, he was probbably conservative due to his eye, but Sam landed some great kicks to the face/body. Sam lost the fight when Forest Clenched with him and threw some ferocius knees to sam's chin wich i think knocked sam out(i watched sam's legs give out in the reply).

Good Fights Tho, but will the Finale be on payperview? I was confused on them messing all the dates up....
 
I was really hoping Swick would get Bonner to tap with that guillotine... Bonner's face was beet red. Overall it was a pretty good fight though. I'm psyched for the finals.
 
mm, I don't think the final is PPV. The 2 final matches will be fought in the octagon on April 9th along with a bonus fight featuring Ken Shamrock. They said it was the first time Ultimate Fighting would be shown on network TV.

April 9: Ken Shamrock vs. Rich Franklin

I saw Rich Franklin from a past UFC... he seems like a pretty good fighter. Should be a good matchup.
 
Pretty good episode last night. I was impressed by Swick, I thought for sure he was going to get knocked out, be held his own and almost won! I think Bonnar will make a good UFC fighter if he wins this weekend - he's big/strong, he knows how to grapple, he knows his submissions, and he has knockout power. Diego vs. Kenny should be good.

I haven't seen Shamrock fight other than his match with Tito Ortiz a while back... and Shamrock got his ass handed to him.

I saw clips from the fight you're talking about... I'm pretty sure it was Kimo. Shamrock caught him with a knee because Kimo kept dropping his head when they'd tie up.

Irregardless, I'm hoping for a good fight... I'd like to see Franklin do well.

Let me guess... inHD? Haha, yeah it's awesome that they replay the old UFC's... I think I've seen about 3 different ones in the past month or so. I just got my HDTV this past winter and I'm loving it.
 
booey, don't you think Diego will totally overpower Kenny. I would like to see a good fight, but Kenny is about 10-15 lbs lighter, not sure his punches would hurt Diego. Diego is an animal & I see him bullrushing Kenny
 
i think deiago will take kenny if they stand up just because he has a better chin on the ground who knows could be anybodys fight i wasnt impressed with kennys standup
against chris but who knows he might cut deiago ,sucked that mike lost so fast i really thought he had stephan with that gilliteen a few more seconds i think he would have tapped ,see his face?haha either way both him and mike are class acts and i'm sure it had to be hard to fight each other it must take a good punch to tell your body that your not sparing anymore but time to kill i see mike going further then this show i'm sure he will be one of the guys that get picked up by some camp

Check out that link I posted on the previous page. ONe of the outtakes show Diego and Kenny sparring. Diego has Kenny up against the wall, and Kenny hits Diego in the eye (a little too hard) and Diego gets all mad saying "Why the hell are you hitting so hard?!" Anyway, Kenny apologizes and they go at it again. You would think Diego would take Kenny down for doing that, but Kenny was able to defend against Diego's takedowns. So, with that in mind, I think it'll be a good match. If I had to put money on it, definitely on Diego, but I think Kenny will have a good showing.

I was very impressed with Swick as well
he'll be a great fighter in his natural MiddleWeight class
Leben was right Swick was oneof his biggest wins that guy can fight

I foudn it odd that Sam, the little thieving bitch, took his loss the best of most of the fighters

Griffin won, it was a good decision.

It was a spectacular end to a great first season, doesn't get any better than that.

Wow!!! Bonner got a contract too as I'm typing this! Thats fucking great!

I smell a rematch?

Incredible fight. I agree that Forest won, but it was so close of a fight to judge. I was happy to see Bonnar get a contract as well. He deserved it even with the loss.

Let's hope for a rematch.
 
bonner vs forest was one of the best fights ive seen. Too bad forest will get owned by other 205lbs in the ufc. he needs to get bigger i think anyways
 
Man, Forrest vs. Bonnner was amazing. I gotta find that video on the net. Personally, I thought Forrest won Round 1 and Bonnar got Rounds 2 and 3. But at least both of them get the contract - that was a real classy move by Dana White. Does anyone know the results of the other matches not shown?
 
That was an incredible fight---I had no idea who the decision would go to. I was actually hoping for a tie. I just didn't want to see either guy lose. But both got contracts, which was super-classy by Dana, IMO.

Diego owned, as I figured he would. He's a nutbar, but a good fighter.

I have to admit I was impressed by Rich Franklin, and not so impressed by Shamrock. But he did take the loss with class.

I'd like to see more fights with Franklin. And the guy has an Master's degree!
 
I've seen a couple of Rich Franklin's fights now and I gotta say I like him a lot. I think he can go far... Did you see that ankle lock that Shamrock had on him? Damn that looked painful.

I thought Stephan fought better
but Forrest did catch him with some good hits
 
Stephan/Forrest was a hell of a fight. Surprised that Sam beat Bobby and Josh got a KO. WTF happened to Shamrock anyway?!!! It looked to me like he slipped twice, once at a critical time. I don't want to make excuses, or take anything away from RF, but I thought Shamrock slipped and Rich capitalized(which he is supposed to do, of course).
Loved the show and will continue to watch as long as it comes out. But,now, it's time to be realistic. Does anybody besides Diego look like they could go far in the UFC? Consider the multi-dimensional fighters they already have. Not just the big names, but the journeymen also.
