Lestat, how can you have the sensational hope for equality in the world

equality is over rated...LOL.
I think on a micro sense, it is, but macro, no. All human life has value, all people matter.

Compared on an individual basis, competition is healthy, fun even, motivates people. There will always be some inqueality, but having large populations that feel they are inherantly superior over other large populations will only lead to bloodshed.

pretty good. had jury duty this week, got dismissed today by prosecution. good thing, odds are I would have voted not guilty.

13 counts of rape against a brotha.

victim is a defense witness, not coorperating with prosecution.

The people, or DA's office chose to prosecute based on the statements taken by police and the nurses write up after seeing her injuries. Was sodomized and otherwise beaten/assaulted. More than one occasion. The defedant and victime lived together at the time.

and why are you sure you would have voted not guilty? Lots of domestic violence victims refuse to testify against their abusers.

Didn't you read his post?

It was a 'brotha'.

He thinks all brothas are victims and deserve a break from the law. Not even sure why else he would have introduced that fact here, as if it was relevant.

It would have been tough, I hadn't made up my mind of course, many people there had. The minute they heard the charges read, you could see people's demeanor and mood shift and there was hate directed at the defendent.

He fucked her up for sure, only he and her know exactly what went down, what was consensual, etc. If she doesn't want to testify against, then why should she? She may have lied to the police that night because she was particularly upset or angry with him. Who knows. I can't say how I would have voted, if rape had occured (based on evidence and the interpretation of the law that the judge gave at the end) then I would have voted guilty.

Just saying, I think the prosection was smart for getting rid of me on this one. sensed some white liberal guilt I think.

Are you sure it was the prosecution that got rid of you? Voir dire is tough. Sometimes it is really hard to know what someone is going to do.
