my legs just plain lag.. i do run 5days per week but maybe 4miles tops each of those days.
would i benefit from doing 3 sets leg extensions everyday? how about squats everyday?
one trainer i had a bunch of sessions with has me doing 3sets pull ups everyday(well 5x per week) and it has made a difference upper body..
?
thanks!

Dont just do one excersize. Do squats, leg extensions, hamstring curls, quad machine is good, calf raises are good i like to do the folloing stances ( I I) ( \/) (/\)

Those are how my feet look from an overhead view. The first one is normal stance feet pointing straight. Second one is heels facing eachother pointing feet outward and the last one points them in sorta like pigeon toed.

No matter what your goals are you wanna fully b alance your legs. Doin squats will make your quads stronger and more muscular but you want full balance and leg development. You gotta go fairly heavy as well.

What Hybridtheory2o is saying will work, but I would go about it a different way. I don't necessarily disagree with what is above, just throwing in my two cents as there is more than one way to skin a cat.

What I would do is squat only. Front sqauts, back squats and overhead squats in a variety of rep ranges. Go heavy (1's, 3's, 5's) most of the time but don't be affraid to occasionally throw in a few sets of 15 or even 25 or 30.

When you are happy with your leg size, then do extensions and curls. I'd save those shaping movments for later and use that energy to squat big for now.

Definately do NOT squat everyday. Squatting for size should be fairly heavy. If you did this everyday you would overtrain the hell out of your quads and they won't grow.
Train with heavy squats once or twice a week. No more than twice.
I noticed my legs were lagging as well and I simply split my legs into 2 separate workouts instead of trying to do all the muscles in my legs the same day. I have one day dedicated to quads, and the next day I do Hams and calves. This way I have lots of energy to blast all the muscle groups in my legs.

A lot of people have been successful squatting 3 times a week. This is especially effective for those relatively new to squatting.

You might try back squats (heavy) and Romanian deadlifts (light) on Monday and deadlifts (heavy) and front squats (light) on Thursday. I think it gives a better balance.

Doing an exercise every day can help. Once you stop your body will overcompensate and grow faster. You just can't do it constantly.

thanks everybody - k to all !

hopefully in a few months i can post back saying "they grew" !>!

20 rep squats....nothing else needed

of course there is, heavier low rep squats with increased poundages from week to week is needed. How are you going to provide a stimulus for growth with only 20 rep squats using a VERY low weight? Youre not.
