I think the Republican right want to wreck the recovery. They would like nothing better than to really fuck the US economy during a Democrat presidency. America could recover strongly, just like it did under Clinton in 1993-2000, but I think the Republican will do everything in their power to prevent that from happening.

No one needs to worry about Republicans screwing-up the recovery. Obama will do that all on his own. He's scared-off employers for decades. We'll see a mild recovery, but the long-term trends will be disastrous.

Clinton enjoyed popularity based more on what he didnt do than what he did do. Once he was reigned in by a goppy congress he couldt do much to fuck things up, and the economy took care of itself, so he wins by default since he was the man sitting in the big chair when it all happened.

I'd settle for that now. If they'd just de-fund healthcare then freeze the entire government for two years, it would be a massive improvement over the horrible ideas Barry is pushing.

Big government democrats and big government republicans have screwed-up the economy really well over the last 20-25 years. And the current genius in the White House has the answer: More government.
