Legislation impacting NEEDTO and Ironmag

What the hell is bad about hcgen....You know there is such a great argument on our side there has got to be somthing we can do..... I mean when can activly defend the use of everything legally available today, and why there shouldnt be a ban versus restrictions. I could debate this with anybody and come out on top. Someone on this forum has to have some knowladge on what can be done to fight it.

Sorry bro, it aint about knowing better or being right... its about scary words like "Steroids" and "Anabolic". Everybody knows steroids are "bad"... so anything that the government could be doing to prevent people from using them is good. When that is all the logic that is applied to the decision, making a solid, valuable, airtight arguement is pointless, because it isnt about who is really in the right. That is their argument, and it is right because they say so and voters dont like the word "steroid" any more than congressmen do. And because most voters dont use AAS, pro hormones, supplements, kill themselves each day in the gym... do ANYTHING that it would take to understand our persepctive from an experiential standpoint, or understand ANY of the biochemistry involved... this wont change anytime soon. The average person sees a real big, muscly guy and assumes that roided out fuck is just injecting this magic stuff into his veins that make him super muscley and crazy and aggressive with no additional work or effort, and with society paying the bill when he goes and kills his family or beats some guy to death at the bar. In essence, they dont know shit, but have a very strong opinion, and there are just more of them than there are of us... Im sure you know what I mean!

I know that we are on the AAS EF boards, so I assume we are all pretty much OK with AAS, and while I dont know anyone's views on marijuana, your example of a COMPLETELY indefensible policy being upheld and pushed forward is completely analogous to the marijuana legalization policy process. Neither any validated scienctific study, nor any member of congress, has been able to concretely prove ONE THING in over 80 years of study and debate to concretely link marijuana use to anything besides promoting a less motivated lifestyle, especially anything valid enough to justify Federal prohibition, but yet... unless you live in one of very few states who are actually VIOLATING the Federal statutes about use/cultivation by legalizing it... they may as well have proved BEYOND A DOUBT that it causes instant death upon the first use - because it would be just as illegal then, too. And honestly, even though weed doesnt neccessarily fit in to the generally otherwise very healthy lifestyle that seems to be common to us on these boards (even though I love the hell out of it!!), it also doesnt have NEAR the risk of adverse effects that steroids do, and it doesnt have the lack of direct studies that, Im sorry, continue to be a plague on the reputation of supplements, pro hormones, etc.

Steroids also do not enjoy widespread acceptance, which marijuana does. People hide that they do 'roids as fiercely as they would being on heroine or cocaine, but will openly advertise their love of weed. Point being... if that stuff is actually cool with pretty much everyone, and they STILL wont legalize it... Steroids, and anything that looks like them, will be illegal long into the future. Including that death gel FormaStanzol that NeedTo keeps peddling!! haha

Just my 2 cents ;)

Every facet of at some point liberal govt aims its sight at. No way should pointy headed intellectuals be deciding what me and you put into our bodies. Whatever you love at some point they'll come over it. Vote libertarian.

edit: anyone know the number of this house or senate bill? I searched govtrack but couldn't find this bill

agreeed... 1+ its all about perception

There are 2 things that hold weed back that make it worse than roids. What the drugs fund, and the jobs in place to combat it. Neither of which exsists in the roid world. Ive never heard of any terrorist, para-military, or major criminal/extremeist group being funded by roids. Im sure there may have been a crazy white power group or somthing but nothing compared to weed. I agree that its dam near harmless and again should be treated like alcohol, but roids just have little to no impact on anybody but the user and with proper restrictions would be nothing to worry about.

Its hidden in HR 2751.

Its hidden in HR 2751.

Signed into law on Jan 4,2011 :( H.R. 2751 [111th]: FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (GovTrack.us)

Roll call GovTrack: House Vote #661 (Dec 21, 2010)

(soapbox moment) I know this isn't a political forum, but just take a moment and look at who voted for this bill. Its all democrats and a few spineless republicans. This bill was shoved through during the lame duck session of congress because they know it wouldn't pass when the republicans were sworn in later on in the month. Remember this, democrats (and about half the republicans it seems) want to legislate every aspect of our lives. They think we're too stupid to decide for ourselves what to do, and we need big govt to figure it out. I vote republican and libertarian. Libertarians just don't have a chance of winning. So usually I hold my nose and vote republican (vs democrat) because it is the lesser of two evils and republicans somewhat put the brakes on our ever increasing govt, versus the democrats who are pushing the gas pedal to the carpet. . Ok thanks for listening

Back to fitness... When is this law going to take effect?

edit: something about 180 days then the FDA will come out with guidelines. Sounds like its turned into "prove to us at the FDA that this supplement is safe"
