Fair enough but by being against gay marriage or gay unions you are essentially admitting that not everyone should be treated equally.

Probably, but that remains to be seen. Fact is the UN has passed resolution UN 1559 calling for a complete Syrian withdrawal from Lebanon. Let the UN put a peace keeping/enforcement force into Beirut and not the Multi-National Force which was put in during the early days of civil war. The UN has operated in the south of the country with UNIFIL. UNIFIL still has a force of 5000 monitoring the Israeli/Lebanese border, plus there's a small UNTSO and OGL force monitoring the borders too.

Either way, Syria must leave Lebanon. Must give up its claim (Lebanon included) to the Shebaa Farms region also. Their serving no usefull purpose in Lebanon. Their presence further destabilizes the Lebanese/Israeli border and hinder's political change in the Middle East.
