Last Post about FIGHT CLUB -- Explain the ending

Ok, I am lost when he looks at the gun in Tyler's hand and then it magically appears in his hand. He shoots himself, says "I'm ok" and then watches the destruction.

Explain that.

I have seen alot of Fight Club posts lately, I must add that this movie was horrible. The ending was the best part because it was over. peace

Maybe because when he shoots himself in the mouth, Jack is in total control of his actions, including that of inflicting pain on himself. Thus his alter ego, Tyler, is no longer needed for him to 'escape' to perform certain actions.

Fight Club is awesome and inspiring.

Brad Pitt is his alter ego, to get rid of this alter ego he shoots himself in the head

The only way he could kill this alter ego within himself would be to become it and the only way to do this was to shoot himself in the head(expecting to die and thus having an acceptance and no fear of death)
