Greetings to all and thank you for checking out my question. I had my hormone levels checked and here are the results:

Total Testoserone: 1345 (High)
Free Testosterone: 176.2 (wnl-within normal limits)
%Free Testosterone 1.31 (wnl)
DihydroTest 86 (high)
Luteneizing Hormone 7.1 (wnl)
Estradial (high Sensitivity) 7.1
DHEA Sulfate 126 (Low)
PSA .3 (wnl)
AM Cortisol 25.1 (HIGH)
IGF-1 198 (wnl)
IGF-BP3 4.8

I take absolutely NO supplements. I am 39 years old and in good general health.
I take no steroids. I went to the antiaging clinic and they told me they can't help me because my test and HGH are normal and it would not be medically prudent to take either.

The doc suggested DHEA and Relacore (yeah, that crap they sell on TV to lower your cortisol levels).

Any advice on what might help me build muscle and decrease fat would be great.

THANKS TO ALL!!!!!!!!!! :)

I am soon to be 39 and I wish my test levels were that high!!!!!

What are your stats and what are you looking to do?

I am 6' 2" and weigh about 203. But I have about 25% body fat which I had no idea about but that is what the density test said. I want to lean out a lot a get stronger.

Thanks in advance.

DAVID

What are you doing for weight training? Cardio? How are you managing your diet (i.e. what do you eat, when, how many grams/calories)? Do you track your caloric intake?

If you haven't read Tom Venuto's eBook entitled "Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle", then you should definitely get it - try a google search for it. Pretty much everything you need to know and do is in this book. There's no magic pill required, there's just doing the right things at the right time - consistently over a period of time. I put the principles in this book to work for me and lost 14 lbs of fat, and gained 8 lbs of lean mass over a 10 week period using no supplements except multi-vitamins, fish/flax oil capsules (3 grams twice a day), whey protein, and MetRx meal replacement powder (as my post workout shake).

I think the techniques that helped me the most, in order of precedence, were:
1. Morning fasted cardio (30-60 minutes) - usually 25 minutes of running on the treadmill making sure to hit my max performance at least 3 times during the workout, followed by 20-30 minutes on the bike at 70-75% of my max heart rate. If you can't do this now, start out with 5 minute sessions and work up to it - that's what I did.
2. Consume 50 grams of protein and 30 grams of carbs immediately after an intense weight routine.
3. Carb management - this is covered in detail in Tom's book. I didn't eat breads, sugars, or dairy products (except low fat cottage cheese), and I made sure I ate my fill of fibrous veggies (broccoli, beans, salad, legumes, etc). Complex carbs came from oatmeal, long-grain rice, and sweet potatoes, and a little bit of pasta, and most were consumed prior to my weight workout. 90% of my daily carb intake took place before 4 p.m. each day.
4. Take in 1 - 1.5 grams of high quality protein per pound of your lean body weight.
5. Drink only occasionally, and make sure when you drink you're not consuming extra sugar. My drink of choice was Bombay Gin & diet 7-Up.
6. Don't cheat!

Hope this helps - we'll see you in 4 months at 200 lbs. and 12% bodyfat!

You have some great numbers in there. Test is high, PSA low .... You are not a HRT candidate. The suggestions the Dr made was simply to improve the few areas where you can.

My reaction is diet improvement to really harness these numbers. I replied back to you that the key for me as I got older was to reduce simple, fast sugars and up clean proteins and veggies.

I didn't see your cholesterol panels. How are they?

If you want to tinker around, I'd just lower the esto a bit with 0.25 a-dex M and Th.

THANK YOU LION AND CHUCHDICK!!!! :) As Far as my Fasting Lipid Profile Numbers are:

Cholesterol : 172
Tryglycerides: 132
HDL Chol : 58
LDL Chol : 88
Coronary Risk Ration: 3.0
VLDL Chol : 26

I saw a previous posting about arimidex but don't know anything about it. I am going to do some research on it. I guess it will help to lean you out muscle wise?????

THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I would not touch a thing as far as anti aging meds. Your profile looks phenomenal! With those numbers you will never have a heart attack! You could only f' it up with supplements. I wish mine were that good and I am younger than you.
The cardio advice is right on the money.

1345ng/dl !!!...you are one lucky SOB..with those numbers just looking at a weight will make you grow...

1345...sounds crazy. I'm 29 and last test gave me 500. Thats a bit udner avg but not too bad. 1350 is crazy...i wudda said it's impossible had you not told me ur nmot on aas.
