Javayoutube.

It is the real thing. Not your strip cardio classes.
Then you might want to start with the water aerobics class at the gym and work your way up.

:lmao: must spread the karma....

I have always wanted to try krav maga it teaches you how to kick ass by displacing your opostions body weight basically using there own force against them. It is suppose to be great self defence for women.

Krav Maga is an Israeli military hand-oh-and combat system. Like most other hand-to-hand and self defense combat systems, the effectiveness of the particular teachings at the school depend upon the knowledge of the teacher and whether or not the training revolves around sparring in real space and time against a resisting opponent. From what I can gather the actual techniques of Krav Maga are like a fusion of Japanese jujutsu and Muay Thai.

Racist!

I just am not comfortable in water when I cannot see the bottom. I'll do it but I get a little anxious.
Baby steps bro....before you know it you'll be swimming in the ocean fighting sharks.

I would still kick your ass.

Sharks are askeered of me.

I had fun in Mexico boogie boarding.

I just don't like not seeing what is beneath me. Although I did meet the rocks on the bottom a few times. In spectacular fashion mind you.

YES it is. A very close friend of mine teaches self defense to women using this very method. EXTREMELY useful.

Almost all martial arts make that claim. It's the way that they go about training you that differs. When a martial art is promoted as 'self defense for women' it is generally a watered down and useless curriculum. It is an advertising approach that preys on women's insecurity. An elbow in the jaw or a hip throw is essentially the same movement whether performed by a woman or a man.

From what I've seen with wiminz self-defense courses it's all about teaching them to be aggressive, something an attacker doesn't expect, and attacks to soft tissues...eyes and groin.

In a real fight where the stake is your life or safety a 250 pound male bodybuilder is going to go at the exact same targets if he wants to end the conflict fast. The training mode is the key. You can stand in class and swing at air and play tough for years and you wont stand a chance against someone who has sparred against resisting opponents for months. No woman is going to be able to deck a bigger man unless she's harder and meaner than him and used to being in combat situations. Being told to go for the eyes and rip them out doesn't do any good if you cannot execute the technique quickly and without hesitation. Consider the type of mindset someone needs to be in to maim another human like that. I submit that the attacker is equally or more likely to have that mindset in most cases.

That's why I consider those courses ineffective for the most part. The army did a good job of instilling the "will to kill" if you didn't already have it. Women generally don't have it "in them."

My favorite movie...

Hijack....

complete.

Krav Maga... go to the school. If people are actually trying to hurt one another while they train, you can probably learn something applicable in real life confrontations. If the training looks like this clip, forget it:

mountain, just go sit in on a few classes. Whatever works for your specific body mechanics. Some guys can take just kickboxing and never learn an inch of ground game and still manage to always stay on their feet........it just depends. But remember, what you're going to learn at some school in colorado is ALWAYS going to be a severly watered down version of what get's taught at an actual Israeli military camp. If I were to get back into martial arts now I would join a BJJ school for the ground game and find guys to spar with for standup. Learn how to box MMA style though.

Some asswipe entered the UFC claiming to be a Krav Maga expert and Mark Kerr promptly fucked him up.

that kind of training is inapplicable to the MMA ring. You can't do an MMA fight when you've trained an art that is totally no holds barred and they teach you how to kill. WIth the rules of MMA it comes down to kicking, punching and wrestling/submission.........to which guys who have been training for that will own you. But on the street, if that guy shoots in to take you down.......you just reach down for his chin and back of head and twist real hard........if you have the balls to snap someones neck that is.

As do most forms of martial arts, examples: aikido, hapkido, ninjitsu, and a bunch of others....most martial arts nowadays are a mix between several old forms of martial arts, and they involve using your opponents power and momentum against them...
