I need to add size to my neck in a big way. can anyone give me some pointers??? I know deadlifts and shruggs help but is there any good exercises i dont know about? I am rather new so im still learning. Anyways, i want a HUGE neck, can anyone help????

Any exercise that works the lats. Deadlifts work for me, lat pulldowns are good, like you said shrugs, side and front DB raises also work for me.

Yeah, you'll notice a huge difference by adding bridges. Make sure you get the technique right tho.. try to pull up some pictures or something before you give them a whirl.

Bridges and neck flexion and extension lifts (lying down with a plate on your forehead, or back of your head, then lifting slowly).

Would this be possible to do without a training partner?

This has worked for me for the past several years but you will need a workout partner. I use my wife to spot me:

Three times a week:
I sit in a chair and my wife sits directly across from me in another chair, facing eachother.
While keeping quiet, I let my wife speak.
I sit there and nod my head up and down.
Ocassionally, I say "Yes honey" to affirm that I am listening to her every word.
This exercise gets progressively harder, but continue to complete failure.
Your head may become softer with time but your will and patience will get stronger, as will your neck.
Your significant other will grow a bigger head.
Studies conclude that this workout is good for the heart and will almost guarantee a partner for life.
NOTE: Resist the temptation to move your head from side to side as this will lead to premature failure, resulting in the need to seek a new partner.

Deadlifts seem to help alot. My traps have always been big, even before I had much size at all. But my actual neck was always real skinny like the rest of me. Deadlifts seem to have given me a thicker neck. Its at 18" last time I measured, with my head tilted back. A long time ago I used to use this neck machine, but I dont think it did much overall. You can also buy one of those neck harnesses that you strap a weight onto. That should help also.

Right on with the deadlifts.. Heavy power cleans, too. You never see an olympic lifter with a skinny neck.
