knot over my vein

Ok so while carrying the laundry I banged my hand on an old student comp desk that needs to go to the dumpster..Well I banged it right on the corner edge where it is pointed..I hit the front of my hand where all the veins are (typically where an iv goes). Now there is this huge knot on top of the vein where I hit it..
Is it normal, or should I be alarmed? It is so fucking sore now

the knot has gone down but now it is turning black and blue...Still sore as a bastard though.My vein seems to be swollen

You broke a vessel. It will be sore, but okay, unless you think you also broke a bone or something. Probably just a hematoma (bruise).

I think all it is is a hematoma..It is just sore as hell right now..Looks terrible compared to my other hand. Cannot really do much with it, and making my hand go flat really hurts..Pain is shooting from fingers up to wrist..Doubt it is broken because I can use it, just with pain. And the way I hit it would not make sense if it had broken.It is just plain nasty...It is right on the top of my hand between the middle and the ring finger set back a little bit. So I think that both veins are swollen, that is why it hurts so damn much
