Keto diet for fatass????

I have been reading quite a bit. I have a lot of weight to lose. I used to lift a lot...was on my way to getting big. But i have had an easy job and got depressed and lazy and have gained far too much friggin weight. I could easily stand to lose 100 pounds.

I have had a physical...my heart is still good (thank God!) and my cholesterol is slightly high...but not dangerous (yet).

I am sick of being fucking lazy and want to take my life back. Is Keto the way to go for massive weight loss for someone like me?

I am 6' and i weigh 315 or so. My lean mass WAS around 200lbs or so last time it was checked about a year and a half ago. I know i have lost some muscle and gained a shitload of fat.

Any thoughts?

Do you plan to lift while dieting, or any cardio? This would influence carb intake, I think. If you don't plan on lifting, I would recommend a Atkins type diet, keeping your carbs at 20-30gms for several weeks. This method worked wonders for me. Then when I started lifting seriously, I needed to up my carb intake. If you do plan on lifting, then a CKD would be better. Do a search of the diet board with the keyword CKD, or read anything that Mr. X has written about it. He's the acknowledged expert on it.

Above all, stay motivated. If you survived boot camp, you can survive anything.

I do plan on working out....doing cardio...the works. I would like to get down to around 240 or little less and then re-evaluate my program.

I suggest you run a straight CKD (SKD = w/o carb up) for the first 4 week because you have the bodyfat to spare. Afterwhich you can start the CKD.

Thanks MrX. I plan on documenting every step of my journey here. I have a tiny bit of graphics and web design experience so i am gonna do a personal site/journal that might hopefully guid and or inspire others who have bunches of weight to lose.
