Kentucky's Strongest Man Contest...

b fold the truth

Elite Strongman
Platinum
Pretty sore today from my contest on Saturday. Had a pretty good field of competitors.

Log Press
270
290
305, first in the 300 class and 1st overall

Farmers Walk and Sled Drag
250's for 100ft, 500 pound sled 100 ft...ON GRASS!!!
1st in my class, 2nd overall

.....was in the bathroom puking when they called my name as being "on deck" for the conan's wheel...haha

Conan's Wheel
600 pounds, 1 rotation and 66 feet
1st in my class, 2nd overall

.....don't even remember doing the conan's wheel at all...lol

Atlas Stones
245,275, 305, 325, 350 all to 44" platforms
25 seconds, 12 seconds faster than the next competitor
1st in my class, 1st overall

Finished first in the 300 pound weight class and 1st overall.

Time for some pics...

290 log press

Mvc-923s.jpg

305 log press. They did not allow you to use your belt as a shelf to assist the lifter in the clean...made these much more difficult.

Mvc-016s.jpg

Doing the farmers...sprinted with these...

Mvc-017s.jpg

The sled sucks!!!! Especially up hill and 100 ft...and on grass!!!!

Mvc-018s.jpg

Digging deep!!!!

Mvc-020s.jpg

Last few steps...nearly passing out...

Mvc-022s.jpg

I then laid there for a LONG time. It took two large men to stand me up and walk me to the shade...couldn't talk for quite a while. Is it normal not to be able to feel your nose and your teeth????

Felt much better after I puked...

Mvc-029s.jpg

Conan's Wheel...still think I could have gone farther if I could talk and remembered doing it...lol

Great show as usual, but you strongmen sure are crazy bastards.....

Mvc-0312s.jpg

Putting up the 2nd stone and looking on to the 3rd...

Mvc-034s.jpg

Putting up the 4th stone and looking at the 5th....

Me, the contest promoter, and the winner of the light weight class (225 and under). Also note that Willie Wessels is in the back ground on the right (WR squat, bench, and deadlift, 2x light weight amateur North America's Strongest Man, and great guy!!).

you are one sick machine! :)

very impressive stuff man. looks like fun kind of stuff to do also. granted its not easy but its different than the traditional lifting stuff.

keep on going.

needsize: Thanks...I like being a little crazy :)

bignate73: I really do believe that a lot of people could benefit from most all of this training, at least to a point. I am very sore today...lol. Now get out there and win YOUR contest!!!

gettinlarger: Thanks...I think that I will waddle off to my bed soon...lol

B True

BlkWS6: Thanks...now I just have to keep improving.

Awsome results!

1st overall, so I guess that makes you Kentucky's Strongest Man! Not a bad title to have next to your name. :)

Ingram: Yeah...they announced me as Kentucky's Strongest man. I was still waiting for the hay toss and the tobacco stripping contest. :)

jnuts: What was funny is that there was a local television station there doing a story on the contest. They followed me on every event and I remember peeking out of one eye while I was laying on the ground nearly passed out after the sled...and they had the camera right on me...lol.

spatterson: I hope to be back up there in a month or so. July 18th and 20th is the Pro Nationals. I will be there for it!!!! You don't want to miss it for sure!!!!

k1401: Thanks.

Screwball: Night Fly didn't compete...the promoter wanted her to show up and compete in the men's 175 pound weight class though. J.T. Hall got 5th in the 225's...showed lots of heart!!!!

Geno_O: Thanks

I'D RATHER BE DEADLIFTING: Thanks man. Just give me 2 years. Everyone believes in me, including my family. After I finished the sled drag my mother had to just walk away because she didn't think I should go on and finish the rest of the contest. After the contest she told me that she had never seen anyone push that hard and still keep going...and then do 2 more events. She was not only impressed but she was proud (and trying to find me a portable oxygen tank for my birthday...lol). She told me that she sees me up there with the pros someday soon...:)

Thanks all

Way to go Bfold...

Congrats on your contest..

You look very strong...:D

How come I cant view the pics?
I dont have to be platinum to view stuff in training right?
Or has that [edit] made us pay even for that?

Pamela: Thanks...hopefully there will be more to come. In preperation to compete at Nationals this October.

Robert Jan: Not for sure. You tried clicking on the thumbnails...right?

Great pics b fold. The overhead log press is the one that amazes me. How the hell did you develop so much strength overhead? I mean seriously, I want to know!

Doktor Bollix: I have been lifting for nearly 9 years now. Pressing overhead requires a lot of total body power, speed, and technique. Doing a log press is a lot different than with a bar...much harder I feel. I also feel that it is safer on your shoulders, elbows, and wrists. I like it for delt development too...

Time, practice, rest, and hitting my upper back and triceps really hard.

Wow!! Very impressive. Strongest Man contest are the most impressive to me. When and where is you next event? I would like to come see it in person.

Fish: I am working on some things for a contest in August in Ohio...but probably not. My next contest will probably be the Amateur Nationals in October in St. Louis, Mo. If I win I turn pro...

Robert Jan: I think I have a good shot at winning the amateur nationals and earning my pro card. With the right training equipment and training, I think that I could be one of the top 20 pro's in the United States next year. I actually hope to qualify to compete in the pro's nationals next July.

Perfect timing for me. I will be there to show support! What an event to watch, someone's last time as an amateur. Very exciting.

JustinM: I doubt elite will sponsor me...I'm not one of those guys who sucks up all the time on this board. I am very opinionated:(
I don't make a lot of friends on here... I actually had a sponsor for this last contest...Saint808...send him some karma!!!

Fish: To win that contest would take the moons properly aligning and everything going perfect...I highly doubt it. I need about 5k in sponsorship money to get me better prepared...maybe less...a lot less if I can get used equipment.

Let me know if you are seriously wanting to be there...I thank you.

Arioch: On the sled drag? Not really for sure. It was enough to make a difference when I got to it though...was NOT fun!!!

I found a loading dock about a quarter of a mile away from where I normally train. It has a 30 degree incline going up to the second floor. Completely kills the hamstrings to pull a sled up it.

The way that we drag the sled...on our tip toes...kills the quads. My quads were so pumped after the drag was over...they had swelled up so large that my compression shorts had cut the circulation off to my lower extremeties...lol...

Nice job B True. As always you are the man. Keep training and I hope a sponsor finds you soon so we can watch you on espn.

Cheers,
Scotsman

Hot damn, B fold!

So happy for you! Great job! And now I feel sooooooo small....sooooo whimpy.....
;)

Kentucky's Strongest Man. Very cool.

Yeah, strongmen/women are cuh-razeeeee. But this training does indeed enhance your core lifts like no other. Besides, it's freaky fun!

Ummm...did anyone notice the date on this post? 2002? :)

B True

Ha...noticed it AFTER I posted.

But, oh well. Just glad to post my "congrats" no matter how late:D
