The courts have ruled that scientists are allowed to study the remains of the Kennewick Man. For those of you who are unaware of what this is........
It's the almost 10,000 year old remains of a man found in Washington State back in 1996. At first it was thought they came from a 19th century prospector because the skeltal structure resembled modern EUROPEANS and NOT AMERINDS. Carbon Dating dated the remains back 10,000 years.
The amerinds have been fighting this because if it is true, via DNA testing that this man was European, then that disproves the theory that ONLY asiatic people populated the North American continent. If it can be proved that there were europeans in america 10,000 years ago, then the indian loses his special position.
