My wife does the same thing.
when I'm not feeling well! I shouldn't be allowed to google my symptoms. Right now I'm convinced that I have Hodgkin's Disease or something like it.
Why do I do this to myself? lol
this is so true.. i did the same thing when i had lower back pain and the interwebs scared the living shit out of me! dont do it

There isn't a doctor on earth who doesn't go through residency hypochondria, and any one that says they didn't is lying. Hell, I went through it when I started doing the medical transcription full time.
I used to convince myself I was having a stroke, cerebral aneurysm or the beginnings of ALS for ages

One of my traits popped out yesterday.... I saw a weed in the yard so I pulled it out and then I saw another and another and the all of a sudden I had about a haystack sized pile of weeds and was all sweaty... my hand hurt and when I went inside to wash (like an hour later) I realized I have a blister and my hand is stained kinda greenish.... I scrubbed with my dish scrub and it still wont fully come out
Google can be awesome, helped me assess the damage to my husbands arm by doing nerve and blood flow tests that were simple but effective, also taught me how to put him into a home made splint

Try a facial scrub and then some lemon juice? I know gardener's pumice soap works well on hand stains.

That's prolly cause the DSM IV is total bullshit....the majority of people diagnosed with a mental illness are classified as "other" which means they don't fit any criteria. Calling the social sciences the "soft" sciences only diminishes the reputation of the real sciences; The "social sciences" are primarily opinion based.
