karma

i dont really understand the whole karma thing either. u only get it anyway if people ask the moderators to give it. even if u give good advice that person may not give you karma. also, since im fairly new here what the star thing under the karma sighn and whats the difference between the glowing ones and the ones not?

hey, I'm not asking for karma, I'm just very skeptical about these people who virtually no posts and tons of karma. Also, I don't think that only mods can give out karma. What I really think is that people are logging in under different names just to give themselves karma.
 
well... whats with the star thing? nobody answered yet. what does the stars mean and the difference between glowing and non-glowing ones?

Back to the point, Neither the number of posts nor the number of karma balls proves that someone is worthy of passing on info or being trusted. The only way to tell who's worth a shit is by reading their posts.

Also, if you do give someone some karma, whether good or bad, you should put your sig on there. Like when I give karma I sign it el. Just so that they know who sent it.
 
ec, how do you sign it??? in the section where it says "your comments on this post"? and how do you read where how many points you have and who gave them to you?
 
To sign it you just type in the comments. I'll type something like "Nice post, el". You go to your profile page to read the comments.
 
I think a lot of guys with 12 green dots pick them up on the chat boards, most of the karma heavy hitters rearly post on the anabolic board, To answer Mike P.T. the stars are given after you reach a certain number of posts with the exception of mods who all get five stars. The glowing stars mean that you are a platiumn member.:D
 
I'd also like to add, that a few of you gave me karma on this post and wrote good karma comments, but passed me bad karma.
 
el, no wonder.. i dont know if my profile screen f'd up, or what... there's no place on my profile where i can see points or who gave them to me. maybe i'll email chris or something. i had to email him before when people were having trouble giving me karma. yeah, i can sign 'em but can't view 'em.
 
I just click on profile and at the bottom of the page it shows karma. The heading is " Elite Fitness Discussion Boards > User Control Panel For el cubano"
 
I've noticed that sometimes it looks like bad karma but it's actually neutral karma, so it doesn't affect you're total points. I gave up a while ago trying to figure this system out, rather childish if you ask me...
 
I'm an old schooler. I think I might have given some out when this karma stuff first started, but I kind of forgot about it after a while. I don't need to see someone's karma points to know if they're full of shit. I have my built in "Full of Shit-O-Meter" for that.
 
liftsiron is right about people getting all their karma dots on the chat board. If you spend five mintues there, there will be at least one or two threads just for passing karma around for no reason at all. Kinda corrupts the whole karma thing.
 
I can't believe this. Ok guys Karma means people like you right? Who gives a shit if people like you on the board? I dont even look twice at those dots, its a fun game, but dont take it too seriously fellas. What does liking anyone have to do with solid info anyways? Karma doesnt mean a thing and certainly doesnt tell you crap about the person. I know a few guys who constantly give good solid info to the board and get flamed for it, my guess is they have zero karma. I think we all know people that got loads of karma that dont contribute shit to the board, or actually that is exactly what they contribute shit and ass kissing. My first and last thoughts about karma .02
