well, its kind of like reputation. The more helpfull posts you made, the more people hit your ying-yang button and give you karma (yesterday you were donated, there is a difference). Depending on your # of posts, the months that you've been a member, how much karma you have, your karma power is bigger.

Dude I would explain it to you, but I'm too lazy.
Basically when you give karma it's green or red. Think of it as either a pat on the back, or a slap to the face depending on the color. You acumulate karma.
