What does everyone think of Kamali and all of the shit talking he is doing? What's up with rhymes with gay? Coming into the Olympia and he thinks he is going to whip everyone's ass except Ronnie...what's up with that?:fro:
 
Only time will tell but I find it hard to belive he will crack the Top 5 at the O but you never know

That pisshead couldnt spot for Cormier, who by the way is the only physique that(in my opinion) can beat Ronnie and take it all.....
 
The way the politics go in the Mr. O he won't crack the top 5 (more like top ten) until he puts his time in. Believe that! Look how long it is taking Jay Cutler to get to the top and he is only placing 7th. Markus Ruehl is getting all pissed off because he can't beat any of the other guys. Orville was lucky to get 10th place last year as a first time competitor. My 2 cents, there has not been one Mr. Olympia winner that has ever been dethrowned....check out the history! Kamali will be lucky if he evens is placed 10th!!! I am going to the show and will boo him because of his assholitis towards respectable pros!!! :fro:

from the politics of this mess we call a contest it is obvious that nobody will dethrone coleman, even tho cormier has the potential. we just have to wait until ronnie retires......
 
You guys that call him an ass, have you ever met him? Spoke with him? I have and I can tell you that Kamali is a real pro. He's actually a very friendly, outging guy who mixes well with the fans. I can tell some of you know nothing about sports at a high level. If you did, you would know that most of that smack talk is gamesmanship, number 1, and showmanship, number 2. Bodybuilding is a sport in need of a guy who can "stir the pot". He is trying to generate interest in the sport and promote himself, while at the same time get into his oppositions heads. Arnold in his prime was considered the most arrogant s.o.b. on the planet. Kamali is playing head games. They seem to work on some of you, that's obvious. In pro wrestling, some of you would be called "marks". I believe Kamali hates Titus and Ray, but the rest is all a show.
 
Whatever his phsyical credentials, Kamali is a jerk and is in danger of disappearing up his own asshole ;)
 
There is nothing wrong with starting controversy, hell melvin did with titus and the $5000 dollar olympia bet, this is clean and good.......however kamali takes pop shots at other pros behind their backs then when confronted says "oh oh..not me". I know this to a fact. I have never met the guy, but I have read many emails from him to other pros. I see coward all throughout his writings.

.....Kamali is not the type of personality the IFBB needs to promote the sport. He (Kamali) would be better off sending his resume over to Vince Mcmahon and friends over at WWF because in my opinion he will not have any kind of longevity in his current postion. Sombat

I just watched the 2000 Olympia yesterday. There is no way that Kamali will crack the top 5. There is too much experience there for him to beat. The only person to ever enter his first Olympia and cause a stir like that was Dorian in his first Olympia in 1991 when he finished 2nd to Haney. There is no way in hell that Kamali could do that.

I'm sure Kamali is nice to your face when you meet him, but he doesn't talk very highly of his competitors. He has no respect for anyone.
 
Actually, I hope everyone on stage just jumps on him and beats his ass so they can carry him offstage and get on with the show :)
 
To comment back to Jeff_rys, Joe Weider knew that Arnold was up and coming so again politics took into play and Arnold won the show and dethrowned Sergio. Mike Mentzer was never a Mr. Olympia! Much respect to Mike but he never won THE show. Not sure where you are finding your data. In 1980 he dethrowned Frank Zane and Arnold has already built a rep that anytime he walked into the Olympia, he won.

Look at this sport now, when Lee Haney won 8 years straight, did anyone beat him? NO. Lee retired, Dorian won. No one ever beat Dorian. Then Dorian retired and Ronnie won since then. No one is going to beat Ronnie because it is unbeatable. That man has more mass on his body than anybody in this world!!!:fro: :bday:
 
alot of interesting input here, bros but, imo..... mark ruhl is hands down the most overlooked pro bb today. he should be in the top 10, for sure. anyone disagree?
 
You're right. Markus Ruehl is one of the most underrated pros today. He is one of the most f...ing hardcore bodybuilders I've seen. He is a monster in person. He is one of my favorites also. I would hate to get my ass kicked by him if I was one of the judges. His reaction to his placing scares the shit out of me.

Kamali will be here for quite a while. I think his " mouth " is good for the sport as far as stirring up rivalries. Look how intense football is between two longtime rival teams. I am not so sure about a top five finish, but top ten is well within his capabilities.
If you ever get a chance, speak to the man, he is actually a class act to his fans.
 
The Mechanic is right. I've met the man on 3 different occasions. He really is a fan friendly guy. Put him in front of a magazine reporter or a microphone, and it's show time! He goes into his little character. The guy is smart enough to see that being "humble pie" will get you nowhere. Too many pros with great physiques get overlooked. It's easy to see he is mostly playing the press. I will concede that it's pretty silly for him to say he's going to beat Ray, but I think a top 10 finish is within his reach.
 
mr politics says bet on coleman - but if any one has got a chance its chris cormier - hes a big un and hes got the politics down. Markus Ruehl is a huge freak and should do well in the next year or so. Kamali is just playing the ratings game mostly -learning form the www
 
kamali adds some spice to bodybuilding, before him all of the contrevercy was alway about one athlete saying "i got robbed", "he placed better then me because he is sucking one of the judges dick".

kamali talks shit but he backs his shit up, and that is all that matters

He's an asshole

The guy may be trying to stir up interest and in bb sell himself, but he's doing it in a way that makes him look like an asshole.

I think Mentzer won the Mr. Universe in 79, and not the Mr. O.....Arnold did win in 80(although Mentzer clearly had him beat), Weider politics, but as I remeber(showing my age..heh heh),Mentzer never won the Mr. Olympia.......

If you would properly read through the thread, I was responding to someone who thought Mike Mentzer won the Olympia and I made sure that was corrected since Mike has never won the Mr. Olympia.

Yeah, no one has mentioned Lee Priest being up there at all. Hell, he was #5 last year. I respect that guy a lot for going up there against guys about twice the size of him and god damn he holds his own too.
Anyway, Levrone is still the man....
 
You guys are right and alot of guys get over looked up there. Dont you see what Kamali is doing. Bring the attention to your self and when you are up on stage all the judges eyes are on you. This way you dont get overlooked and if you are in shape, which I bet he will be, you place. It isnt that easy of course but that is what he is trying to do. My opinion is I have Kamali in the top 6. That is just my opinion. His leg development is crazy and from the side very few come in with thighs cut that deep. I met King a few times including in Florida in 99 before he won the finals at the nationals and every time he was a good guy. I will be at the Olympia this year and I will be in his corner. I like what he is doing in the sport. Like I said this is just my opinion.
 
Yes I saw him at the NOC and I saw and spoke to him at the USAs. He was around 305 at the USAs. He should be up there too. I like Tom's physique the best. If he puts it together a little tighter than the NOC you will see him up top.

Kamali IS playing the politics game! If you notice..he bashes the shit out of bodybuilders but not the IFBB or it's judges. Hell, I think that he is the only bb'er who actually likes Jim Manion. Anyways, Kamali does need to learn to respect the people that have been doing this for as long as they have been. The people he attacks though have been known to be little bitches and not liked tremendously. Sportsmanship is good...but only to a certain degree...then we are going to have the WBF. Remember that debacle...I think Joe likes the shit talking but he will still like his guys and who ever sells the most magazines....will place the highest.
