Just performed a very scary exercise

*waits for pick3 gai jokes*

Decided to sit down and analyze my monthly expenses, averaged throughout 2006. Weighed that against my monthly income. Also analyzed how much "untouched" money I actually have tied up in CDs and mutual funds, etc. And highlighted how much credit card debt I am in.

Man, I suggest everybody do this. Like, now. Especially fools my age who may not be as cognisant (sp?) of how much they spend without having kids/mortgages to deal with.

It's fuggin eye opening.

All I have to do these days to get scared about finances is open up the monthly statements I get from my divorce attorney - or look at the latest proposed child support amount from the ex-bitch.

:barf:

get rid of the credit card debt.

ASAP.

Wow. Thanks for the insight, Captain Fucking Ions Beyond Obvious

It's actually very minimal. Put a little extra on recently, but I'm damn good about paying it off. Also, my credit score is 810. Which helps, cause I have an abnormally tiny penis.

i guess its abnormal for me to be married and have a mortgage at 24? no cc debt

I have rabbit ears sitting on my TV, I'm here via Walmart connect dial up, and I drive a Yaris liftback, it's not a complicated process for me to get a snapshot of my financial condition. :worried:

just wait...your bills now are disneyland :D when you buy a house and every asswipe in the world tries to spend your money.

Not necessarily abnormal for the first part. No credit debt is abnormal tho - very good abnormal.

I could have a mortgage, could have had one for a while. But, a) I live in one of the most expensive areas of the country and b) don't expect to sit around here for much longer. So, I must keep on being angry at pissing away rent $$$

thats true you live in nyc.. def wouldn't want to know how much you'd have to spend monthly on a mortgage there for a tiny spot..

Reality sucks don't it!

Nah. I'm really good with my finances, but I didn't necessarily know the exact figures til now. It was very worthwhile cause now I see a few areas where I can easily cut out some expenses.
