I wonder if a response like "You know my quality of life & energy and whole outlook & confidence has just been soaring since I dropped that excess weight...." and just walk away smiling. It really makes me wonder if they might actually HEAR that and take a look at themselves. When you can't even get up to go for a walk w/o heaving like you just ran a marathon or can't sit down to play w/ your kids or whatever -- don't you think they would want a better quality of life? Or just accept their lot as fat piles of pathetic depressed shit and be miserable until the day they die?
I guess I think of my cousin alot. He's 2 days older than I am and weighs in at 450 lbs at 6' tall. I'm amazed he doesnt' have type II diabetes yet and frankly I'm amazed he's even still alive. He's been miserable most of his life. He has the most depressiign out look on everything and really is a pain to invite to family gatherings because he usually almost breaks my mom's nice dinign room chairs when he sits on them and just really leaks negative karma everywhere. I mean, what could've been a beautiful life (he's the sweetest guy, smart as shit & really a big hearted person) seems to just live with this dark depressing pall around him all the time.
He did look into gatric bypass last yr but they told him he'd need to lose at least 50 lb first (a la Atkins diet) before they could safely stress is body that much w/ the surgery itself. I'm not really sure I understand this part - they didn't really give him good nutrition counseling when he started explorign this option and he was just beside himself w/ the fact that he'd never be able to eat pizza again. I don't think that's really true but goddammit, if there's really a decision to be made between eatign another pizza and having a healthy body, there's some priority problems there.
Anyway - if you've achieved somethign that makes your life a better thing, then fuck the world that criticizes you about it. Their comments are ignorant, jealous and frankly just reflective of their own issues. If they aren't interested in learnign soemthign about a healthy lifestyle, then they will never experience the joy & sense of self that you obviously have found. Sad way to spend your life.
