You have tough skin, need to on EF...LIlMull, don't take this personally as NO ONE was named...

Your attitude, yearning to learn and educate yourself is praise enough...esp. when you think like I do about the priceless info on here

Ok well a few things have been bothering me lately , and I wasn't going to say anything, but you know I changed my mind. I'm just going to put it out there and hope it doesn't come off harsh, ladies don't take offense, I'm not speaking directly to any one in particular, just in general, I've noticed a trend, and I'm sure a few others have to.

Ladies, it pisses me off when someone posts up a thread and asks for advice, and help, and then once it's been given and it's different from what they have been doing, then they say well "I know what works for me" and what I'm doing works for me.

Well if that were true then why are you wasting our time posting the question, since you already have the answer, and aren't going to use the information and help that you were given.

I think I'm going to hold back on my replies here alittle, just step back for abit.

Just needed to get this off my chest.

I hope that you continue to reply to questions that you think are worthwhile because I think you have great common-sense advice and knowledgable input! People that come to this board need to be willing to "experiment" a little - trying something different may yield unbelievable results! One just needs to be patient to allow those results to occur. No worthwhile changes will happen overnight. I have been weightlifting for over 10 years and I still learn something new everyday on these boards. ;)

I get this alot.. work, the gym, etc.

Sat down with a coworker for near an hour explaining diet... even went so simple with her. didn't get into Macro's etc. She wants to lose a few lbs and wants help.. so I give my input.. she's doing the training.

Diet comes up.. so I recommend that she tracks her intake for a week and let me look at it. LOL.. well I have to say, at least she was honest and didn't come up with a lame excuse.. her exact words are.. I'm to damn lazy to count my cals.

Then my reply was "Well M, get used to your fat rolls honey.. if you don't want to put in the effort and the time to find out whats going wrong, they will be with you for a long time... " Got a good chuckle out of me.. and thankfully she knows I am straighforward so she expected my reply and laughed too.

Human nature.

People look to be validated and by asking questions and hoping that other people will say the same thing as they are already doing or thinking is a way to do find that validation. I get this a lot in my business - people will hire me to tell them they have good taste - not because they really want to be assisted.

When you take the time to post something you are giving a part of yourself not to just the person that starts a thread -but those who are merely hiding in the wings, those that read but either doesn’t feel confident in responding or asking questions publicly just yet.

Nothing said will go to waste, except for abusive people that take up space - that's a waste but fortunately we have a fantastic bunch of ladies and a few men here on this board that makes this forum a breeding ground for hope, strength and knowledge.

My sister in law has asked me several times for "help on losing the tummy".

I take the time to explain and try to help her and then she goes "Well, I eat a package of cookies a day and I'm not willing to give that up". wtf!? :smash: lol..

Have I told you lately that I love you Vel :bigkiss:

Shadow, I certainly understand you. :)

Seashell, NO SINFULLY DELICIOUS DESSERTS FOR YOU!!!!:velvett:

I want to thank everyone who posted, like I said I needed to get this off my chest and put it out there, it's something I felt needed to be said.

Like velvett said, when I response to someone and offer advice, I'm giving you apart of me, I'm letting you know that I'm here for you, and I want you to succeed with your goals and I'll do my best to help. Of course I don't expect all advice that is given, to be taken. But just don't ask for help with something, and then just dismiss the advice, because you know what works for you if that's so then why are you asking for help, just keep doing what you're doing.

It makes me feel like your spitting in OUR faces.

But you're asking because you aren't seeing the results you want, and obviously what you "think" is working for you, is NOT!!!!

I deal with this EVERY DAY here at work as well, and when I make it out (if ever) to touch base with old friends....I have to hear it all again and how "i will not give up my social life or quit drinking...."

... The ladies in my office just started another FAD diet (which I didn't EVEN bother to ask WTF they were doing) ...and one of the just said... "well i will wait see if it works, the give it a try if you lose weight..."

HELLO DO YOU NOT SEE ME HERE?!?!?! Granted, they don't see my in my panties like y'all do, but it is driving me insane, and I am seriously going find a new line of work...I've Had it

*end rant for now*
Maybe you should show up to the office in yer undies one day...they'll get it then. ;)

Word.

Annoys the crap outta me.

I understand it can be hard to hear criticism. Especially when you feel like you are trying your best.

But people need to remember that you NEVER stop learning. No matter how many years you are involved in fitness. There is ALWAYS something you can learn. I learn something EVERYDAY. Every single day I learn something I didn't know - a new exercise, a new idea of a routine, a new recipe, a new study, a new supplement, a new SOMETHING. You may know your body better than everyone - but that does NOT mean you stop learning.

Not only that, but several sets of eyes are better than one. The more input you get - the more alternatives you get, the more information you get, the more you learn, the more you get in your "bag of tricks". This is a GOOD thing.

Along with this .......... PULEEZE people, read the freakin' stickies. They are there for a reason. :)
