After 2 months out, and it feels fucking amazing. Drilled the old school moves: arm bar, triangle, americana, kata gatame choke, guillotine and various leg locks from basically every position available. Then worked on Upa escapes, elevator sweep, scissor sweep, push sweep, and loads of guard passes + 10 mins free sparring. I swear I am a natural at this, ADCC in 6 years. Good luck with your training guys. Peace!

There is an awesome instructor in my area right now... I just don't have the fucking time to devote to it right now. I'm down to only having 2 nights per week to train.

I'm in Long Island right now. Matt Serra has a couple of Dojos a few minutes away from me.

I trained at Renzo's for a couple of months, mostly Muay Thai.

serra is awesome.. it would be worth going once or twice a month just to get a bit of a different experience..

especially if you have a solid base which i know you do..

Serra is good people and I'm planning on investing a couple of nights per week next month to go and train there... There is only so much time I have to train and I want to concentrate on no-Gi. I don't have the time to train both Gi and No-gi.
My ground game right now is more MMA than Submission wrestling. I'm fine as long as I can strike on the ground, if I can punch him on the face and keep him worried about getting hit... Very hard for him to take his time and work into some shit on me.
Right now I think my clinch game is the best part of my game, I have some really nice throws and takedown defense, working/learning the Muay Thai clinch work has also helped tremendously.

cool deal your in an area that is loaded w/ talented coaches and instructors..

yeah my 9-5 is really killing my training schedule right now..

another thing and im kinda glad i have this problem is that my coach is now running classes 6 days a week so I train w/ him all those days which leaves me no time to train at other clubs.. oh well.

well that's the kind of problem to have
the only better problem is like , well I ko people so fast that I don't really get much ring experience other then sparring.
that's the problem I want to have

Yeah I have been thinking about doing more cross training which would mean going to other schools to train. the styles I am interested in cross training are sambo and BJJ I have taken both before but havent really competed in either. Now i am not interested in becoming a well rounded fighter or striking at this point.. just grappling and subs for me for now..

but instead of training w/ others in the area.. for now im just gonna have a bit more freedom in my judo training to help me prepare for the other tournaments.. things like attacking the face, shoulder locks and some leg locks. these are things we really dont do in my judo class because we are a competition orientated club. luckily the way i practice ground fighting is already well suited for bjj and sambo. in judo most guys when they get a pin (mount, north/south, side control) they just sink it in deep and hold on. when i spart i get the hold secure it as best i can, give the person a few seconds to try to get out from that position and then i immediately start attacking looking to finish w/ subs

im guessing i will loose a few matches just because i am unfamilar w/ the rules and i am not familar w/ the attacks or strategies some opponents will use but it will still be fun.

by attacking the face do you mean a crossface?
when someone crossfaces if you have some upperbodystrength you can get them in sidechoke (Judo's Katama Gata or somesuch pin which can also be a sub if you tighten up)
I've gotten a lot of guys on that, even if I dont' tape them out they reconsider crossfacing me wich means from bottom I get to see them and that can take them out of their game if they use the crossface a lot to set up
