Just accepted a new position! memememememememe

High End Bro
Platinum
I received a call last week completely out of the blue asking to interview me for a position from a random reference of a doc I used to work with. So I went in and interviewed and was offered it the next day. It's as an international ICU charter flight nurse. I'll be working 2 weeks on call and 2 weeks off. My income will double as will my time off. The company has over 30 planes in its fleet and fly's all around the world. They also have the only contract with the government to transport critically injured and dead soldiers. (no)FML

Friggin awesome BRO!!!!!! Thats amazing news, truly happy for ya despite the fact that I dont even know you, lol.

Sucks about the soilder part though bro. Damn.

Something about it HAS to eventually suck man, it is a j o b.
Good luck man and congrats, hope you like it.

Lol, well I'm engaged and cohabitating sooooooo double score

lolol...score!! (?)

congrats though, seriously...sounds cool..I'd be psyched as a medic to do something like that

gotta wait for a blue moon, a death on the team and be dual licensed (medic/rn) to get flight medic around here...which was always my dream job.

even the injured/dead soldier part...germany I would imagine?

their version of critically injured is a little different than regular stateside medicine so some of that will be as bad as you think..some of it wont..if its what I think it is you'd be dealing with getting soldiers from FOBs to the states, stuff the base can't treat adequately..or the the soldier is going to be discharged and they ship em home for treatment.

...their emotional pain will be a lot worse than their injuries because they tend to have the mentality they failed as soldiers which is their entire identity until they re-acclimate at home.

Pretty awesome man. does that mean you 're not moving to Colorado?

We still plan on moving to Boulder. Were tossing around the idea of buying a condo out there now and just flying out there once or twice a month. It's going to be very difficult for my fiancé to find a job there due to the field being very competitive so she's looking into a part time job in the mean time. She works 7 on 7 off right now so she could fly out there every month to work. I would like to hang onto this job as long as possible especially with the earning potential being fantastic. Their demand has ncreased 800% over the last few months due to the contracts with the government so there is always potential for them to spread out across the US more...we'll see. Plus my fiancé has already accepted a position with them as well. All she has to do is have her phone on her during a flight to field questions/concerns and for that will pay her about 5x what they're paying me.

That's great bro. Always happy to see good people from EF succeed.
