just wondering cause ,i dunno i see many AS users in the gym and they use Hammer Strength Alot of their backs/CHEST

Hammer Strength-HIGH ROW
Hammer Strength-LOW ROW

Hammer Strength-Incline,Decline and CHest Press

wtf i thought with AS free weights were #1 ,dont get me wrong i use hammer strength also but i just thought if they juicing why dont they hit it hard with freeweights? is their something about the Hammer Strength?? these AS users are big also

:(

thx

thats wha im saying i love the DECLINE CHEST i substitute it between decline bench and that

but on juice i thought its better to freeweight stuff and not use the hammer strength?

Training is training whether you are juicing or not. If you like a movement off cycle, then do it when on. Free weights are always superior but Hammer is a good change of pace to keep muscles guessing at times.

not really

free weights are not superior to hammer strength, though everyone does not agree with everything about High-Intensity-superslow-arthur jones-training the one thing they did hit on that is correct is that you need variable resistance and constant tension on the muscle for effective workouts. For instance if you are doing a barbell curl, the first 20-30 degrees of movement are horizontal movement which is not against gravity so it is not really working your muscle that well, then you get to the half way point and you have probably noticed this is what they call the sticking point that is because it is the only part of the movement that is directly against gravity and therefore the most productive part of the curl, but it is only about 4-5 degrees of movement and then past that is horizontal movement again when you get to the top of the movement again. so while it does not have to be hammer strength equipment per se a machine is usually better than free weights if used correctly because you will have constant tension on the muscle from begining to end and not just where gravity is in a direct vertical line with the weights. there is also variable resistance that i could talk about but that topic is too long for a discussion on the board here, it just has to with that the muscle has different stregth levels at different points of the movement that is why you see those funny looking cams on machines. anyway just wanted to say those couple things. and if you are interested go to www.exercisecertification.com and read some articles there

If you insist on using machines - use them for finishing and supplemental movements.

Make sure primary exercises are free weights and done first ie:

Back:
Deads
Bent Over Rows
Hammer faggit iso-single arm brachial row
Body Masters supper slut rhomboid stimulator

The primary free weight exercises will built most of your muscle anyway so use the others to bring up weak points as assistance exercises.

Second - don't ever assume that some guy taking roids knows how to train. I have met so few people in any gym that have even a remote clue. Generally all the PTers are horrible and the BBers, well most of them are on juice cause they couldn't make progress naturally anyway so you know their training is shit (not a blanket statement but in most cases the truth).

yah hehe i do use the hammer strength i wont lie about it, i do all my workouts with free weights... only time i used Hammer Strenth is the HIGH ROW which i used to do as warm up sets........thx im gonna read that site

I agree that Hammer Strength machines are good, but they aren't really built for lifting real heavy. For example, on the incline Hammer machine I can lift with seven plates on each side, but the stress that it puts on your wrists is way too much. It feels like my wrist is going to snap off.

i love their back stuff. specifically the iso row and the high row. i don't like the new low row contraption.

I agree. I love both, particularly the high row for my last exercise. Hammer also has a pullover machine but it sucks compared to the one nautilus makes.

muscle-geek, your gym must have a special-edition hammer incline or something -- you can't fit 7 plates on a side on the one at my gym, and any gym I've ever been to. pretty impressive though, what are your stats?
