joe d's new mass routine

joe d

High End Bro
Platinum
well i just got my doctors report that my heart is bact to healthy. so i will stop trying to lose and see what i can do on my trt only with a clean diet 4500 cals.

here is my new routine.
for the last month i've been lifting like a bitch so we will see how this goes lol.

1
flat db press 4 sets
stand bb press 4 sets
dips 3 sets
rev grip press 3 sets

2
deads 3 sets
bent rows 3 sets
tbar 4 sets
shrugs 4 sets
chins 2 sets

3
squats 3 sets
leg curl 4 sets
leg ext 2 sets
stand calf 3 sets

i will pick a weight for each lift that will get me around the 8-10 rep range and not drop the weight. i will just get as many reps as i can for each set after the first.

Fuckin A brother. I love it! I'm also very glad to see your heart is back to a healthy status!
Thats basically the same plan I just adopted last week. What a difference over a "standard" body building plan!! The standing overhead presses are the shit too. I'm doing them in a clean and press format. I just wish I could do dips.

Where are you at weight and BF wise now if you dont mind me asking?

why cant you do dips?

strength wise i can do them if i wanted. But i have tri insertion tendonitis(its under control). The problem is, I can do body weight on seated dip machine, either sitting up or leaning way forward, its all good. But when you take it into a "real" dip, it requires (as you know) much more from the elbows and everything else core wise to stabilize the entire body weight throughout the motion. All that extra stress seriusly hammers those insertion tendons. I have to get deep tissue/accupresure weekly as it is so i can do real heavy pressing without pain and its going well. tendons seem to be adjusting to heavier weights finally. I think the plan is, soon as I can do 25-30 lbs over body weight on the seated dip I will give regular ones another go. Seated machine dips dont target my tries like real ones do either, it sucks. Last time I tried them my elbows were fucked for two weeks, seriously strained my tendons. Actually the right is worse than left.
Pisses me off, I can DB press, BB incline, clean and press, military BB ect, real heavy so its frustrating.

that is an odd that you are able to do everything else with it. injuries blow. the last thing i ever want to do is take time off. i have to force myself once in a while.

I cant do overhead extensions or skull crushers either if I want to be able to keep working out pain free. They are a little sore after a real heavy chest day but recovered by the next time. They are getting better at handling the increased weight. I really wanna get to the point where I can do actual dips. I really enjoy my new training split without isolated "arm" movements. I loath working bi's anyways.

i havent directly worked bi's in years except for a few times to see what i could curl or something. imo its pointless when you can do so many heavier lifts. i wonder sometimes how many successful bb'ers actually follow the typical bb'er routine. it seams as if all the big boys are into the compounds. i think they have a place in pre contest and thats about it.

so your going 3-4 sets as heavy as you can with a weight that allows you to get 8-10 reps right? What are you doing for warm-up?
I do 2-3 real heavy(for me) work sets with flat DB for example. But I work up with 12-15 rep sets with at least 3 if not 4 lighter weights. Just to be precautionary on the shoulders. Then when I move into incline, or any other movement I usually just do one light set to start. Just to get into the "motion" and "mental vibe" of the next excersise going, if that makes sense.

i go with a weight that allows 8-10 for the first set. but i dont change the weight. so by my last set im pnly getting maybe 2 or 3. i just warm up with light weight until i get a little pump then i blast through it with the sets. i always have a slight pump before i start the lift. i just to whatever as i need it. i am in the mood and stay that was before i even walk into the gym. people mess with me all the time after im done. they tell me i look like a psyco in there. they laught to because all the people that dont understand are always caushous and stay far away from me lol.

Do you mind if I ask what blood readings indicated the heart problem? Also, is 4500 maintenance for you current weight?

i dont know that a blood test can show that. my doc listened to my heart and wanted to x-ray. that is how he knew. i was visiting my doctor 1-2 times per month and he saw a big difference just by checking my vitals and imediately got scared and sent me over to the hospital.

i dont know exactly what i need for my current weight because i was still losing. im just bumping a bit to start gaining. if i need more i will add as i go. i know i dont need less. when i was 270 i was clearing 7500 cals ed. i dont buy to much into those calculators. i actually despize them. i just go by what is happening with me.

Fuck those food calculators. I have messed with one a few times just so I know the basics like how much protein is in 1 ounce of beef/chicken/salmon ect, and how many calories. Then I rough guess or sometimes weigh the meat and just guestimate it. That way I have a general idea. But I cant get too scientific. It takes the fun out of it and I lose motivation.

As far as heart issues, when you were having them, was it the enormous food intake or the beefy cycles? Heavy lifting? Or was it not one but all of them combined? I remember you had some pretty massive suspension cycles going. I know I start to get some palpitations at 1000mg of test wk. But i was only there for 3 weeks while I was on a switch over from prop to Enanthate and taking both together.

it was mostly a size issue. in simple terms i out grew my organs. being a freak isnt only about the ability to get huge, is is also the ability to be able to survive the stress. that is where i lack. of course the large cycles, extreme diet and training made things that much worse. i was constantly having issues that i just kind of over corrected them with drugs. blood thinners, bp meds, mood stablizers you name it. fuck that i love my family and life in general. its not that i didnt see it that way before because i did. i started to get that invincable fealing. thinking that as long as i worked with the professonals nothing would happen. they did in fact prevent the heart failure that i was headed for but i now realize the stupid risk i was taking.

Jesus bro:worried: Thats some scary shit. I'm 6'0" and 265 right now at about 17-18% (? i dunno, can see top two abs in the morning)
I'm on a 4 week cruise of 150mg Enanthate a week until oct.14 when I get new bloodwork so my kidney levels get back out of the red zone after all the goddamn celebrex I took post surgery. Then I'm going to hit 500-750mg sust weekly with maybe 2-300mg of deca wk. for 8 weeks before coming off with a long pct. I want to try to hit 300 lbs by the end of febuary then cut to 7%. I dont think its too much for my frame. Pretty much as long as I feel good I will keep trying to gain.

I'm not talking calculators, I just figured you'd know what 4500 would do for you. I know 2800 is what I need to maintain, anything more than 3200 bloats like crazy and 2400 is too much drop to cut. I lose too much muscle. I gradually cut things out when I feel too fat like reducing milk intake, etc...

I am so much stronger when I eat how I want. I don't gorge myself, just try not to get hungry...

im really not sure. i will probably still lose a little but im not going to eat much more than that. i was losing weight rapidly at 3000 cals. it was lbs per day in the beginning. i was still dropping about a lb per day up until yesturday.

did u post any pics up in the gallery? if not why dont u? your stats are the biggest iv heard of any member on here...

in time you pain in the ass :D

let me get a little peak back and drop another couple bf% then i will be comfortable. right now im still pretty thick (not like i was) but im pretty flat to.

I hear u joe d......I recently had the dumb idea to take a week off to see if a wrist pain i had would go away..Well after the week was up i ended up catchin the swine and some other fukin virus that my lil bro brought home from school.. Left me crippled for 2 more weeks and really affected my appetite..Ended up losing bout 8 pounds total in the first week!!! Sucks u cant gain as fast as u lose huh??
