JM Press vs Close Grip Bench

Ah, it looks like from that video that your forearms come back toward your head and you do kind of a partial skull crusher for the JM press. I'm just gonna keep using the close grip for my triceps 5x5 for now, and maybe switch up later. Thanks Mike!
 
everyone has their own variation of the JM press.

I think the most important thing is that you feel it in your tris, and only in your tris. If you feel it in your chest your using too much weight.
 
Is there a difference, then, between a JM Press and a California Press?
 
The difference is that the JM press is supposed to be performed like a modified skullcrusher, whereas a california press is a hybrid, skullcrusher/closegrip press. I believe the JM is more effective to hitting all of the triceps heads, because it isolates and only works the triceps opposed to a california and CG press where your pecs and delts come into play more.
