Jay Cutler Is Mr Olympia!!!

Gunters conditioning was much better last year then this year. I was kinda disappointed he is a fav or mine though. Maybe all the beer he has to drink for beerfest affected him. ;)

I'd still do him.

Even tho Jay's proportions just seem weird - i.e. like "The Hulk" movie -- just too thick in general. But damn he wears that mass well when he cuts (I guess it helps he doesn't have normal sized people standing next to him for size comparison...)

thats wat i mean bran, but i think everyone pretty much uses genetics as an excuse. if anyone saw nassar back in his day, it did not look like we would ever become a BB, even dorian. I'd hate to tell them that all their hard work and dedication was not the reason for there sucess. In a way yes, genetics counts, but its more of a supplement to good dieting and hard work (and good old M1T :)

seriously tho, i think pros do train the hardest, and thats y they are the best in the sport. Training the hardest doesnt mean just going to failure or "throwing around " weights, it also means dedication, sumthin many of us lack. also, training beyond failure is more of a personal judgement... many people think they do

and no, the # of pros is not fixed

the main point i want to get at is pro BB work harder then everyone else in the BB community. If they didn't then they wouldnt be pros. Genetics is a factor, but not the only one, and yet everyone uses it as an excuse.

I'd like anyone who posts up crap about BB or how they merely have good genetics to say it to a BB's face. Y do u have to hide behind a computer screen?

Everyone on the Olympia stage is in the top .0001% of genetics in the world. That's like saying that anyone can be an olympic sprinter if they run hard enough. That's ridiculous. It is a combination of genetics, drugs, and extreme dedication in and out of the gym. You can take a guy with even above average genetics and put them on all the drugs in the world, have them train perfectly, and eat perfectly and they will never touch a pro stage. I'm not saying they don't kill themselves in the gym and out, I'm saying that without the right genetics none of that matters.

this is what i hate about bb'ing.
it always comes down to this.
"he'd beat your ass"
you could say the same thing about more less any athlete
TO for example
he could beat the majority of his detractors ass
same with tyson
but what does this prove?
nothing

sassy good links thanks

You're absolutely right. My respect for elite competitive athletes is their mental tenacity, not if they could kick my ass or not. Could I kick my bosses ass? Yes, but I still respect him. That's a pretty caveman way of looking at life. I of course don't like it when athletes are discredited and said to be lazy by someone who has no idea how much goes into it. You can be a baseball player and be lazy (I played in college, lots of those dudes were garbage), but being a competitive bodybuilder and being lazy are polar opposites. I will end with this, Mike Tyson doesn't want a piece of this : )

my point is that if you're going to insult somebody, be ready to defend urself first. didn't we learn not to be physical back in gradeschool?

On these online forums, there is no distinction between whos who. You give BBers no oppurtunity to answer back. so don't say it on here, say it to them

and those who do are just plain stupid and cowardly.

im pretty sure u guys know exactly wat i mean

Y does everyone say this of all BBs?
"Everyone on the Olympia stage is in the top .0001% of genetics in the world."
and in particular, only say it after they turn pro? look at pics of BB in their teens or even a few who didnt start until late 20s.... they looked just like the average joe. Priest, and a few are an exception tho

Saying that genetics is a factor is totally subjective. Unless u can prove dorian had some genes that allow him to build super uber muscles, then u have nothing to say about genetics. and i dont think any one particular person has had their genome sequenced yet

well, the same could be said about any top performing athlete
nfl, mlb, nba, etc are the .0001% who had the skill combined with genetics required in order to make it
