When my pops turns 62 he will be drawing THREE separate pensions
he worked for Kaiser - 15 years (hung on long enough to qualify for first tier of pension
The Air Force - 20+ years E9 (he was able to get 20+ years by going reserve after two enlistments as active duty)
The State of California - 20 years (he worked 18 and took a buyout where he paid 50K cash for 2 more years of seniority, he'll get 66% of his annual salary when he retired!
He'll get some piddly social security money too as well.
All in all, he'll be pulling down more in retirement than he ever made during his time working!
